Unlabelled: Behcet's disease (BD) is a chronic systemic inflammatory disorder characterized by a ‎‎course of remissions and exacerbations of unpredictable frequency and duration‎. Pro-‎inflammatory cytokines seem to be responsible for the enhanced inflammatory ‎‎response in BD.

Aim Of The Work: This study aimed to investigate serum levels of IL-33 in patients with Behcet's disease (BD) and their relationship to disease activity and clinical manifestations. Thirty patients with BD were enrolled and subjected to assessment of disease activity according to Behcet's Disease Current Activity Form (BDCAF) score. Serum IL-33 levels were determined using Enzyme-Linked-Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA). Thirty age and sex matched rheumatoid arthritis patients and thirty healthy volunteers were included in this study as control groups. Serum IL-33 level was 132.5±19 pg\ml, 101.2±20.1 pg\ml and 31.5±10.5 pg\ml in RA, BD and healthy control groups respectively. IL-33 was significantly higher in BD patients (101.2±20.1pg/ml) as compared to healthy controls (31.5±10.5 pg/ml) but lower than rheumatoid arthritis patients (132.5±19.1 pg/ml). Levels of IL-33 were significantly increased in BD patients with skin lesions (Erythema nodosum & Acneiform lesions) and ocular lesions (retinal vasculitis) (P<0.05), and a positive correlation was found between BDCAF score and IL-33serum levels (r=0.9, P<0.001). In conclusions, serum IL-33 level is elevated in active BD patients with skin and ocular affection and correlates with disease activity.

Objective: The aim of this study was to evaluate and validate the accuracy and performance characteristics of administrative codes in diagnosing autoinflammatory syndromes (AISs).

Methods: We identified potential AIS patients from the electronic medical records at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics and the Stead Family Children's Hospital using a screening filter based on the 10th edition of the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10) codes and interleukin-1 antagonists. Diagnostic criteria for adult-onset Still disease, systemic juvenile idiopathic arthritis, Behçet disease (BD), familial Mediterranean fever (FMF), cryopyrin-associated periodic syndrome (CAPS), and SAPHO (synovitis, acne, pustulosis, hyperostosis, and osteitis) syndrome and chronic nonbacterial osteomyelitis (SAPHO-CNO) were reviewed for each patient.

Behçet's disease (BD) is a chronic, relapsing, systemic vasculitis of unknown etiology that affects blood vessels of all sizes, potentially leading to severe complications such as coronary artery aneurysms. This report describes the case of a 33-year-old woman with BD who presented with recurrent chest pain. Imaging revealed a large saccular aneurysm in the left anterior descending artery.

Introduction: The Behçet's Disease Current Activity Form (BDCAF) is crucial for monitoring the progression and treatment efficacy of Behçet's Disease (BD), an autoimmune disorder that can be triggered or exacerbated by viral infections. Herpes simplex virus type 1 (HSV-1) has long been recognized as a potential trigger for BD, as it can induce systemic inflammation and exacerbate symptoms. In contrast, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has recently emerged and may also initiate or worsen BD symptoms.

Background: When Behçet's disease is complicated with gastrointestinal ulcers, it is referred to as intestinal Behçet's disease (BD). Clinically uncommon, this condition can involve the entire gastrointestinal tract, often presenting diagnostic challenges in differentiation from Crohn's disease.

Methods: In this case, atypical BD was diagnosed through endoscopic examination, whereas latent tuberculosis infection (LBTI) was confirmed via T-SPOT and PPD tests.

Background: Intestinal Behçet's syndrome (IBS) has high morbidity and mortality rates with serious complications. However, there are few specific biomarkers for IBS. The purposes of this study were to investigate the distinctive metabolic changes in plasma samples between IBS patients and healthy people, active IBS and inactive IBS patients, and to identify candidate metabolic biomarkers which would be useful for diagnosing and predicting IBS.
