Objective: To study the metabolic changes of cerebellum by proton magnetic resonance Spectroscopy (1H-MRS) and discuss the relationships between the cerebellar changes and depression severity in patients with post-stroke depression.

Methods And Results: Data of demographic characteristics, individual history and life style of all subjects were collected. 40 patients with stroke and 20 controls were enrolled. All groups received T1WI, T2WI, DWI and 1H-MRS examination. The cerebral infarction volume and the distribution and severity of leukoaraiosis were evaluated. The ratios of NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr and Cho/NAA in the cerebellum were calculated. There were no statistical significant difference in the NAA/Cr, Cho/Cr and Cho/NAA ratios in bilateral cerebellum between CONT group and NORM group. The Cho/Cr and Cho/NAA ratios in the cerebellum contralateral to the stroke region were higher in PSD group than those in NORM and CONT groups, and the Cho/Cr and Cho/NAA ratios in the cerebellum ipsilateral to the stroke region were similar with those in NORM and CONT groups. However, there were no statistical significant difference in the NAA/Cr ratios in bilateral cerebellum among three groups.

Conclusion: The result shows preliminarily that the cerebellum involves in the development of post-stroke depression.

Objective: We aimed to elucidate the histopathological pre-diagnosis of cranial gliomas with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) techniques in gliomas.

Method: A total of 82 glioma patients were enrolled to our study. Pre-operative conventional MRI images (non-contrast T1/T2/flair/contrast-enhanced T1) and advanced MRI images (DAG and ADC mapping, MRI spectroscopy and perfusion MRI [PMRI]) were analyzed.

This study aimed to evaluate the predictive value of metabolic parameters in preoperative non-enhancing peritumoral regions (NEPTRs) for glioblastoma recurrence, using multivoxel hydrogen proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (1H-MRS). Clinical and imaging data from patients with recurrent glioblastoma were analyzed. Through co-registration of preoperative and post-recurrence MRI, we identified future tumor recurrence regions (FTRRs) and future non-tumor recurrence regions (FNTRRs) within the NEPTRs.

Article Synopsis
  • The study aimed to explore how diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI) and hydrogen proton magnetic resonance spectroscopy (H-MRS) can predict immunohistochemistry biomarkers in glioma patients.
  • The researchers analyzed preoperative images and collected data on several DTI and H-MRS parameters from glioma patients to assess their relationships with IHC markers like Ki-67 and others.
  • Results indicated that lower relative ADC (rADC) was linked to Ki-67 positivity, while the metabolites N-acetylaspartate (NAA) and creatine (Cr) decreased with higher glioma grades, suggesting they could help predict tumor characteristics and activity.

Purpose: To investigate the predictive value of multi-parameters derived from advanced MR imaging for Ki-67 labeling index (LI) in glioma patients.

Materials And Methods: One hundred and nine patients with histologically confirmed gliomas were evaluated retrospectively. These patients underwent advanced MR imaging, including dynamic susceptibility-weighted contrast enhanced MR imaging (DSC), MR spectroscopy imaging (MRS), diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) and diffusion-tensor imaging (DTI), before treatment.
