Background: Lichen sclerosus (LS) is a chronic inflammatory disease affecting skin and mucosal tissues, particularly external genitalia, with a risk of cancer. Its etiology is unknown, possibly involving immune dysregulation and inflammation.

Methods: Study used DNA methylation (DNAme) and single-cell RNA sequencing (scRNA-seq) to compare LS with normal skin.

The long jump is an athletic event that demands speed, power, force application, and balance, with each phase being critical to overall performance. However, previous research has neglected the limiting effect of the wedge pedals on ankle dorsiflexion range of motion. This cross-sectional study investigated biomechanical changes in the lower extremities during long jumps under varying degrees of ankle dorsiflexion.

Article Synopsis
  • Limited biomechanical research explores how horizontal meniscus tears (HMTs), meniscal repair (MR), and meniscectomy affect knee biomechanics, prompting this systematic review to investigate changes in knee contact mechanics following these conditions.
  • A total of 6 studies were analyzed, revealing that HMTs increase peak contact pressure (PCP) by 14.2% and decrease contact area (CA) by 7.1%; partial meniscectomies (PM) also raised PCP significantly while reducing CA, and complete meniscectomies (CM) resulted in even higher increases in PCP (54.5%).
  • Meniscal repair (MR) showed no significant difference in PCP or CA compared to intact menisci, indicating that it

This study investigated how the time of day affects physical performance and perceptual responses in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) athletes. Given the significance of circadian rhythms on athletic capabilities, we aimed to determine whether performance variations occur across different times of the day (morning, 10:00-11:00h; afternoon, 14:00-15:00h; and evening, 18:00-19:00h) and if these effects differ by sex. In total, 23 BJJ athletes (9 females, 14 males) participated in this study.

Background: Arthroscopic labral repair of the hip is successfully performed with increasing frequency using either knotless or knotted suture anchors, each with its own risks and benefits.

Purpose: To examine biomechanical and clinical outcomes for labral repair of the hip based on the use of knotted or knotless suture anchors.

Study Design: Systematic review; Level of evidence, 4.
