Cardiac hemangiomas are very rare benign neoplasms that are usually asymptomatic. Although there are often found incidentally during echocardiography, other imaging modalities such as computed tomography, magnetic resonance imaging, and coronary angiography are needed to establish a diagnosis. Surgical excision is therefore recommended to confirm the diagnosis and avoid potential complications. We report a case of asymptomatic cardiac hemangioma that was discovered incidentally during echocardiography.

Background: The current guidelines recommend patient stratification based on transthoracic echocardiography (TTE) to identify individuals with potential pulmonary hypertension (PH). We validated the relationship between PH and the pulmonary artery diameter (PAD) on computed tomography (CT) with peak tricuspid regurgitant velocity (TRV) measured by TTE for referral of patients with suspected PH for TTE screening.
Methods: We performed a retrospective analysis of CT-based PAD of 2356 patients who underwent TTE from February 2, 2013 to December 25, 2019 at our institution.
Accessory mitral valve tissue is a rare congenital anomaly often linked to the anterior mitral leaflet, diagnosed via echocardiography. It may cause left ventricular outflow tract obstruction, with prognosis depending on obstruction severity and regular monitoring essential in asymptomatic cases.

Infective endocarditis is rare but carries significant morbidity, including risk of systemic embolization. A 67-year-old woman presented with endocarditis. Evaluation revealed a mobile mitral valve vegetation and a right atrial mass.

These masses are typically identified incidentally during imaging studies, such as echocardiography, and further evaluation with cardiac magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) is required for accurate tissue characterization. Early recognition and appropriate management are crucial to prevent complications.

Heart failure impairs the heart's pumping ability and triggers catecholamine production as an adaptive mechanism. Uterine leiomyomas are common tumors of the female reproductive tract. Their growth is promoted by dysregulated angiogenesis and gonadal steroid hormones.
