Coronary artery occlusion has a direct effect on cardiac activity and is a well-known reason for ventricular motion disorder, specifically left ventricle (LV) wall motion dysfunction. In stress echocardiography, wall motion abnormality is exaggerated when stress is applied to the heart, and therefore, it is easier to diagnose abnormality in ventricular motion. In this study, we have presented a new parameter that measures LV function. We have shown that LV function can be measured using a variation of endocard borders during a cardiac cycle in standard stress echocardiography frames. This parameter shows a meaningful difference between ischemic and normal hearts and is calculated at different heart rates (HRs). In conclusion, ischemic hearts cannot keep up with the required increase in activity when reaching peak levels of stress.

Aim: To study the relationship between laboratory markers and echocardiography (EchoCG) parameters in heart failure with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) depending on the results of the diastolic stress test (DST).
Material And Methods: The diagnostic algorithm provided by the current guidelines for the assessment of left ventricular (LV) diastolic function was used to select patients. If there were not enough criteria to make a conclusion about increased LV filling pressure (FP) based on standard resting echocardiography data in patients with arterial hypertension and ischemic heart disease, DST was performed to detect HFpEF.

Introduction: In the present study, we evaluated the impact of empagliflozin on serum levels of oxidative stress parameters in individuals with type 2 diabetes (T2DM) who also suffer from heart failure with Reduced Ejection Fraction (HFrEF).
Methods: In this prospective, single-center clinical trial, 80 patients with T2DM and HFrEF, stabilized on guideline-directed heart failure therapy and classified as New York Heart Association functional (NYHA) functional classes II or III, were randomized to receive either empagliflozin (10 mg/daily) or a matching placebo for a duration of 12 weeks. Serum levels of malondialdehyde (MDA), along with the activity of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GPx), were measured at baseline and after the 12-week treatment period.
