Septic cardiomyopathy (SCM) is a critical sepsis complication characterized by reversible cardiac depression during early septic shock. Neutrophils, integral to innate immunity, can mediate organ damage when abnormal, but their specific role in sepsis-induced myocardial damage remains elusive. Our study focuses on elucidating the role of Neutrophil-Related Genes (NRGs) in SCM, finding early diagnosis and treatment biomarkers.

Cognitive dysfunction contributes significantly to the burden caused by Major Depressive Disorder (MDD). Yet, while compelling evidence suggests that different biological processes play a part in both MDD aetiology and the development of cognitive decline more generally, we only begin to understand the molecular underpinnings of depression-related cognitive impairment. Developments in psychometric assessments, molecular high-throughput methods and systems biology derived analysis strategies advance this endeavour.

Background: Allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma are closely related, and AR is regarded as an important risk factor for the onset of asthma. However, the pathogenesis of the development of asthma from AR is still undefined.
Objective: The aim of this study was to investigate the mechanisms underlying the development of asthma from AR by comparing the transcriptome features of patients with AR with and without asthma.

A worldwide increase in the reports of diseases affecting marine organisms has paralleled the climate warming over the past few decades. In this study, we applied omics to explore the mechanisms underlying thermo-linked epizootics, by comparing both the transcriptome- and proteome-wide response of turbots to a mimic pathogen (poly I:C) between high temperature and low temperature using a time-course approach. Our results showed that myeloperoxidase (MPO) and insulin were differentially expressed transcripts shared by all five time-points post poly I:C-injection between high and low temperature and also had a consistent expression trend as differentially expressed proteins at 24 h post injection.

Both intercellular adhesion molecule-1 (ICAM-1) and vascular cell adhesion molecule-1 (VCAM-1) have been implicated in neutrophil-mediated lung and liver injury during sepsis. However, the role of these adhesion molecules as well as the contribution of neutrophils in myocardial dysfunction during sepsis remains to be determined. The purpose of this study was to examine the role of ICAM-1, VCAM-1, and neutrophils in lipopolysaccharide (LPS)-induced myocardial dysfunction.
