Wound repair surgeries are the most common childhood surgery in most countries. Medical treatment itself will impact children's mental health. The authors' objective was to study the impact of parental presence in preschool children and to reveal the conditions and precautions of it. Parental presence during facial trauma surgeries was analyzed, a group of 49 preschool children from April 1, 2013 to April 30, 2013 and their parents attended the experiment, contrasting with a group of 57 preschool children without parental presence. By means of clinical observation and questionnaire, the wound infection rate, surgery satisfaction, children and parents' anxiety level were studied. The authors found that parental presence would not increase the Infection rate. Parental presence could reduce children's and their parents` anxiety level and increase the surgery satisfaction rate. Parental presence has a lot of positive significances about the children's emergency surgery, children's health care and parents' anxiety.

Intrapericardial teratoma is a rare tumor that usually presents in neonates or during infancy because of the associated high degree of pericardial effusion, cardiac compression and severe respiratory distress. In this paper, we report a rare case of intrapericardial teratoma that was incidentally discovered in an infant with superior vena cava obstruction following pericardial effusion absorption. Echocardiography and thoracic computed tomography angiography revealed that the intrapericardial mass obviously suppressed the superior vena cava.

The purpose of this study was to identify pediatric eosinophilic fasciitis, which is an extremely rare condition, in order to describe their clinical, paraclinical, and therapeutic characteristics. We made a call for observations via societies for pediatric rheumatology in France and surrounding countries and collected clinical and paraclinical data of the cases fulfilling the diagnostic criteria. Eight patients under 18 years of age with confirmed eosinophilic fasciitis followed between April 2004 and July 2022 in France, Germany, Italy, and Spain were included.

Background: A partial atrioventricular septal defect (AVSD) with a hypoplastic left ventricle and common atrium is a rare combination of cardiac anomalies that can be associated with Ellis-van Creveld (EVC) syndrome.
Case Summary: A female neonate with EVC syndrome was diagnosed with an unbalanced AVSD and hypoplastic left ventricle. Pulmonary artery banding and ductus ligation were performed at 23 days after birth.
