Using functional materials to stabilize emulsions of carbon dioxide (CO) and water is a promising way to expand the utility of CO and functional materials. Here we demonstrate for the first time that the partially reduced graphene oxide (rGO) can well stabilize the emulsion of CO and water without the aid of any additional emulsifier or surface modification for rGO. More interestingly, such a novel kind of emulsion provides a facile and versatile route for constructing highly porous three-dimensional rGO materials, including rGO, metal/rGO, and metal oxide/rGO networks. The as-synthesized Au/rGO composite is highly active in catalyzing 4-nitrophenol reduction and styrene epoxidation.

Dysregulation at the intestinal epithelial barrier is a driver of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). However, the molecular mechanisms of barrier failure are not well understood. Here, we demonstrate dysregulated mitochondrial fusion in intestinal epithelial cells (IECs) of patients with IBD and show that impaired fusion is sufficient to drive chronic intestinal inflammation.

Introduction: Pain control following Nuss thoracoplasty remains a challenge. Cryoanalgesia of the intercostal nerves has been demonstrated to reduce postoperative pain in these patients. The objective of this study was to understand how and how widely cryoanalgesia is used in pediatric patients undergoing funnel chest surgery in Spain.

Rationale: Postpartum haemorrhage (PPH) is common and potentially life-threatening. The antifibrinolytic drug tranexamic acid (TXA) is thought to be effective for treating PPH. There is growing interest in whether TXA is effective for preventing PPH after vaginal birth.

The orthogonal product set with quantum nonlocality can enhance the confidentiality of information without consuming entanglement resources. The confidentiality increases with the reinforcement of its nonlocality. However, the orthogonal product sets with the strongest nonlocality need an enormous number of quantum states.

Background: Men who have sex with men (MSM) constitute a significant proportion of individuals living with human immunodeficiency virus. Over the past few years, China has implemented various strategies aimed at increasing the rate of HIV testing and reducing HIV transmission among MSM. Among these, the disclosure of HIV serostatus is an effective prevention strategy.
