Technological evolution dynamics has led to the exponential increase of the quantity of information published in all the scientific domains. In this context, there has been necessary to develop an objective method of reviewing the journals, articles and respectively the researchers. This paper represents a review of the evolution of traditional metrics based on citations.

Architectural metamaterials that span different length scales and are either self-similar or dissimilar to one another make up hierarchical lattices. Comparing hierarchical lattices to traditional ones reveals that they offer superior and customizable properties, which allows for a wide variety of material property manipulation and optimization. Each computer network can be represented as a graph, where nodes alternate as vertices and links are edges.

Value of multi-parameter I-MIBG scintigraphy in the differential diagnosis of Parkinson's disease.

EJNMMI Res

January 2025

Department of Nuclear Medicine, Beijing Friendship Hospital, Capital Medical University, 95 Yong'an Road, Xicheng District, Beijing, China.

Background: I-MIBG scintigraphy plays a significant role in diagnosing Parkinson's disease (PD), with most studies primarily targeting cardiac uptake and relying on traditional ratio-based parameters for assessment. However, due to variations in scanning conditions and image processing methodologies, the clinical utility of different parameters remains a subject of debate. This study aims to evaluate the diagnostic accuracy of multi-parameter I-3-Iodobenzylguanidine (MIBG) scintigraphy and to identify the most reliable metrics for distinguishing PD from Parkinson-plus syndromes.

Ethical and security challenges in AI for forensic genetics: From bias to adversarial attacks.

Forensic Sci Int Genet

Computer Science Department, University of Buenos Aires, Faculty of Exact and Natural Sciences, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Forensic scientists play a crucial role in assigning probabilities to evidence based on competing hypotheses, which is fundamental in legal contexts where propositions are presented usually by prosecution and defense. The likelihood ratio (LR) is a well-established metric for quantifying the statistical weight of the evidence, facilitating the comparison of probabilities under these hypotheses. Developing accurate LR models is inherently complex, as it relies on cumulative scientific knowledge.
