The β-diketiminato magnesium amidoboranes [HC{(Me)CNDipp}Mg(NMeBHNMe·BH)] and [HC{(t-Bu)CNDipp}Mg(NMe·BH)] are readily converted to the corresponding derivatives of the [HB(CF)] anion by treatment with B(CF). The bis(borohydride) derivatives of the heaviest alkaline-earth elements, strontium and barium, may be similarly synthesized by reaction of strontium or barium dimethylamidoboranes and B(CF) and by metathesis reactions of either SrI or BaI and 2 molar equiv of K(HB(CF)). The strontium and barium compounds have been fully characterized in solution and in the solid state as the respective tris(diethyl ether) and tetrakis(tetrahydrofuran) adducts. The magnesium compound [HC{(Me)CNDipp}Mg(HB(CF))] has been applied to the catalytic hydroboration of i-PrN═C═N-i-Pr with HBpin. In contrast to carbodiimide hydroboration catalyzed by the corresponding β-diketiminato magnesium hydride, which results in the exclusive production of the monoborylated amidine, use of the [HB(CF)] derivative provides the product of bis-borylation, the aminal HC(N{Bpin}i-Pr), under mild conditions. A series of stoichiometric reactions highlight that, while this reactivity is likely to be primarily magnesium mediated, B(CF) plays a vital role both in the delivery of reactive hydride and through the Lewis acid activation of the heteroallene substrate and various reactive intermediates.

In this work, the rare earth element Ce was incorporated into the A-site of SrBaNbO ferroelectric ceramics, which was prepared using the conventional solid state reaction method and sintered under different procedures. A comprehensive investigation was conducted to assess the impact of Ce doping and varying sintering procedures on both the relaxor characteristics and electrical properties of the ceramics. When sintered at 1300 °C for 4 h, the grains exhibited an isometric shape.

The synthesis of ethylamine-based perovskites has emerged to attempt to replace the lead in lead-based perovskites for the alkaline earth elements barium and strontium, introducing chloride halide to prepare the perovskites in solar cell technology. X-ray diffraction studies were conducted, and EXPO2014 software was utilized to resolve the structure. Chemical characterization was performed using Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, photophysical properties were analyzed through ultraviolet-visible spectroscopy, and photoluminescence properties were determined to confirm the perovskite characteristics.

The findings regarding trace element concentrations in patients diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and healthy controls are inconsistent, and therefore, we determined to gather them in the form of a review to further indicate the need for more advanced knowledge development. In our study, we reviewed articles and studies that involved the topics of micronutrient and metal associations with the occurrence and development of type 2 diabetes. We mainly included works regarding human-based studies, but with limited research results, animal-based research was also taken into account.

The need to optimize size, weight, and power of high-power microwave (HPM) systems has motivated the development of solid-state HPM sources, such as nonlinear transmission lines (NLTLs), which utilize gyromagnetic precession or dispersion to generate RF. One recent development implemented the NLTL as a pulse forming line (PFL) to form a nonlinear pulse forming line (NPFL) system that substantially reduced the system's size by eliminating the need for a separate PFL; however, matching standard loads can be challenging. This paper describes the development of a tapered NPFL using an exponentially tapered composite based ferrite core containing 60% nickel zinc ferrite (by volume) encased in polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and encapsulated in a 5% barium strontium titanate shell.
