Airway stents can provide effective and timely relief in patients with central airway obstruction. Silicone based stents are the most commonly used airway stents worldwide with a long track record of safety. Metallic stents continue to evolve from the earliest uncovered versions to a variety of newly designed covered stents. Despite the availability of a variety of stent materials and designs, minimal advances have been made towards innovation in stent technology and an ideal stent has unfortunately not yet been developed. Nevertheless, the first generation of biodegradable airway stents are available, work on drug-eluted stents is in the pipeline and three-dimensional printing of a customized airway stent may be the future. In this review, we discuss selection and results for most commonly utilized airway stents.

Objectives: Tracheomalacia is defined as the weakening of the tracheal rings secondary to long-standing compression or inherent structural weakness, leading to stridor and airway compromise. The common etiological factor of tracheomalacia includes compression of the tracheal framework due to a large multinodular goiter. There are various management techniques described in the literature to manage a patient with tracheomalacia including tracheostomy, tracheal stenting, and tracheopexy.

This case report describes a case of congenital nasal pyriform aperture stenosis in a 7 day old neonate, which was managed with an endoscopic balloon dilatation. Nasal stents were not used and the child is doing well after 6 months on routine follow up.

Endovascular stenting has become an effective intervention for symptomatic relief. Introduction And Importance: Negative pressure pulmonary edema is a rare systemic complication ensuing from general anesthesia.
Case Presentation: In this report, a middle-aged male Who underwent V4 of vertebral artery stenting under general anesthesia, developed acute respiratory distress and a decrease inoxyhemoglobin saturation(SpO2). The condition was controlled after giving high concentration of oxygen assisted ventilation and sputum suction.
