Well-differentiated papillary mesothelioma of the peritoneum (WDPMP) is a rare subtype of epithelioid mesothelioma, which is usually seen in young women without a history of asbestos exposure, and generally, has an indolent course. The relative rarity of this neoplasm in males prompted us to report this case of a well-differentiated papillary mesothelioma of the peritoneum in a 36-year-old man. The patient, who had no history of asbestos exposure, presented with abdominal pain and ascites of unknown etiology. Computed tomography showed abundant ascites with nodules of the peritoneal cavity. Laparoscopic examination revealed a large number of white miliary nodules diffusely covering the peritoneum. Pathology revealed a diagnosis of well-differentiated papillary mesothelioma of the peritoneum, based on histomorphology and immunohistochemistry. The patient started chemotherapy with cisplatin and pemetrexed. After six cycles of chemotherapy, the effectiveness of this chemotherapy was checked by only the computed tomography. PET scan was not used because it is not routinely recommended in WDPMP. Few data are currently available in the literature regarding the performance of the PET scan in WDPMP. Nine months later, the patient was free of symptoms. Based on reviewing the literature and our observations in this case, consultation of other pathologists is highly recommended to discern WDPMP from other disseminated peritoneal diseases, in order to offer the most effective and safe therapeutic strategy. Chemotherapy should be strongly considered if the tumor is unresectable and accompanied by symptoms. Cisplatin and pemetrexed chemotherapy could be a promising therapeutic choice.

Objectives: The authors sought to assess whether the age of 18 reflects a true pathological inflection point that justifies transitioning between pediatric and adult paradigms of care with differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC).
Methods: A retrospective chart review was conducted for patients aged 12-24 undergoing hemithyroidectomy or total thyroidectomy for papillary or follicular thyroid carcinoma from 2010 to 2020.
Results: A total of 153 patients receiving surgery for DTC were assessed for pathological stage, nodal metastasis, and thyroid neoplasm characteristics.

Background: The accurate preoperative diagnosis of TC plays a very important role in the selection of an appropriate treatment strategy. In addition to the hypoechogenicity of thyroid lesions on ultrasound and the presence of microcalcifications or high cell atypia on FNAB, highlighting the features of laterality and focality and ascertaining their influence (alone or combined) on TC staging and appropriate treatment are crucial.
Materials And Methods: A retrospective analysis of the clinical data of 697 patients admitted to the study center between 2008 and 2023 was conducted.

Immunohistochemical study proves valuable in the diagnosis of neoplastic pathology. Its application allows us to differentiate the origin of tumors, as seen with thyroglobulin and TTF1 in well-differentiated tumors of follicular origin and calcitonin or other neuroendocrine markers for tumors arising from C cells. At times, immunohistochemical study becomes necessary for the classification of thyroid carcinomas arising from follicular cells, although specific antibodies that would enable the exclusion of malignancy or differentiation between follicular carcinomas and papillary carcinomas have generally not been found; hence, various antibody panels are utilized.

Objectives: Gastric papillary adenocarcinoma (GPA), a well-differentiated gastric adenocarcinoma, is associated with a worse prognosis compared to other differentiated gastric adenocarcinomas. Therefore, there is an urgent need to characterize its endoscopic manifestations for guiding biopsy site selection and achieving accurate diagnosis.
Methods: From January 1, 2016, to December 31, 2022, the data of 46 cases of early gastric papillary adenocarcinoma (EGPA) and 183 cases of early gastric differentiated tubular adenocarcinoma (EGDTA) diagnosed via pathological examination following endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) at the Second Hospital of Shandong University were collected.
