In this paper, we demonstrated a hybrid master oscillator power amplifier (MOPA) laser with high peak power and widely tunable pulse repetition frequency (PRF) and pulse duration. The first-stage solid-state amplifier was carefully designed to keep good beam quality and supply high gain simultaneously. The maximum peak power of 760 kW was achieved with average power of 42 W, PRF of 50 kHz, pulse duration of 1.1 ns, and near-diffraction limited beam quality. The MOPA laser covers a broad tunable temporal range with 1-100 ns for pulse duration and 50 kHz-1 MHz for PRF. Moreover, we experimentally and numerically figure out that Nd:YVO crystal behaves as if continuous-wave (CW) amplification takes place when PRF is larger than 30 kHz.

Background: Patients with end-stage kidney disease (ESKD) are at high risk for coronary artery disease. We investigate the trends and outcomes of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) for stable ischemic heart disease (SIHD) in patients with ESKD.

Methods: We utilized the United States Renal Data System [2010-2018] to include adult patients with ESKD on dialysis for at least 3 months who underwent PCI for SIHD.

Background: Early clinical outcomes data for adjunctive systemic sirolimus therapy (SST) for moderate to severe pediatric pulmonary vein stenosis (PVS) are promising but limited.

Objectives: The authors aimed to characterize a cohort of patients treated with SST to determine if SST was associated with a reduction in frequency of PVS interventions.

Methods: Medical records of 45 patients with PVS treated with SST for ≥1 month from 2015 to 2022 were retrospectively reviewed.

An intelligent controlled spatiotemporal mode-locked (STML) fiber laser based on a photonic lantern (PL) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. A pair of in-house developed PLs is spliced into the cavity in a back-to-back structure. This PL-based structure functions as a mode multiplexer/demultiplexer to generate higher-order spatial modes.

Atoms in Rydberg states are an important building block for emerging quantum technologies. While excitation to Rydberg orbitals is typically achieved in more than tens of nanoseconds, the physical limit is in fact much faster, at the ten picoseconds level. Here, we tackle such ultrafast Rydberg excitation of a rubidium atom by designing a dedicated pulsed laser system generating 480 nm pulses of 10 ps duration.
