Specification search problems refer to two important but under-addressed issues in testing for factorial invariance: how to select proper reference indicators and how to locate specific non-invariant parameters. In this study, we propose a two-step procedure to solve these issues. Step 1 is to identify a proper reference indicator using the Bayesian structural equation modeling approach. An item is selected if it is associated with the highest likelihood to be invariant across groups. Step 2 is to locate specific non-invariant parameters, given that a proper reference indicator has already been selected in Step 1. A series of simulation analyses show that the proposed method performs well under a variety of data conditions, and optimal performance is observed under conditions of large magnitude of non-invariance, low proportion of non-invariance, and large sample sizes. We also provide an empirical example to demonstrate the specific procedures to implement the proposed method in applied research. The importance and influences are discussed regarding the choices of informative priors with zero mean and small variances. Extensions and limitations are also pointed out.

In our paper, "The reference of proper names" (2018), we raised and rebutted the "New-Meaning" objection to our methodology. Our rebuttal rested on theoretical considerations and experimental results. In "Do the Gödel vignettes involve a new descriptivist meaning?", Nicolò D'Agruma provides an interesting argument against our theoretical considerations (but does not address the experimental evidence).

: Autologous platelet-rich plasma (PRP) transfusions are a relatively new treatment method used in different fields of medicine, including the field of reproductive medicine. One of the applications of these concentrated platelet infusions is the treatment of endometrial receptivity, which is a key factor for embryo implantation. There are implications that PRP infusions can lead to increased endometrial thickness, endometrial receptivity, and significantly elevated clinical pregnancy rates.

Personalised nutrition (PN) as a new endeavour emerged in the background of the human genome project with the ease to analyse genetic heterogeneity. First commercial offers with recommendations for diet and lifestyle changes, usually based on a few polymorphisms, entered markets soon after the presentation of the human genome blueprint. Although PN has seen many attempts, meanwhile, with the inclusion of other biomedical measures such as microbiome and/or continuous glucose monitoring, scientific assessments of such approaches in various settings revealed limited success.

Riparian functioning condition refers to a rating and description of the current ecological status of a reach of a riparian ecosystem in consideration of its potential hydrology, vegetation, and geomorphology. Reach rating options are Proper Functioning Condition (PFC), Functional-At-Risk (FAR), Non-Functional, and apparent or monitored trends. We assessed the functioning condition of flowing riverbank areas of Back Creek located in Virginia (USA) following a PFC protocol developed by the U.

In order to obtain proper speed limits in expressway work zones, CarSim and TruckSim software were used to determine the critical car and truck safe speeds and then VISSIM software was used to determine the traffic capacities and their corresponding speed limits under different upstream transition area lengths and road adhesion coefficients. The results show that critical car and truck safe speeds increase exponentially while traffic capacity and its corresponding speed limit increase logarithmically with rising road adhesion coefficient under a constant upstream transition area length, and critical car and truck safe speeds increase as a power function while traffic capacity and its corresponding speed limit increase exponentially with rising upstream transition area length under a constant road adhesion coefficient.
