LMG 23361 is the type strain of the species isolated from the milk of a dairy sheep with mastitis. Some pharmaceutical products contain disinfectants such as benzalkonium chloride (BZK) and previously we reported that LMG 23361 possesses the ability to inactivate BZK with high biodegradation rates. Here, we report an improved high-quality draft genome sequence of this strain.

In this study, two strains, strain KNU17BI2 and strain KNU17BI3, were isolated from maize rhizospheric soil, South Korea. The 16S rRNA gene and multilocus sequence analysis and typing (MLSA-MLST) were used for the identification of the studied strains. Strain KNU17BI2, which belonged to was of a novel sequence type (ST) designated ST-1538, while strain KNU17BI3 had a similar allelic profile with the seven loci of strain LMG 23361.
