This article uses the engineering background of the Zhengzhou Metro Line 5 with a cement-soil group pile composite foundation. It simplifies the composite foundation using the area-weighted composite modulus method and establishes a finite element model of a double-line EPBM passing beneath the cement-soil group pile composite foundation building. The calculation results were compared and validated against monitoring data.

Two-component system GrpP/GrpQ promotes pathogenicity of uropathogenic Escherichia coli CFT073 by upregulating type 1 fimbria.

Nat Commun

January 2025

National Key Laboratory of Intelligent Tracking and Forecasting for Infectious Diseases, TEDA Institute of Biological Sciences and Biotechnology, Nankai University, Tianjin, China.

Uropathogenic Escherichia coli (UPEC) is a major cause of urinary tract infections (UTIs). Invasion into bladder epithelial cells (BECs) on the bladder luminal surface via type 1 fimbria is the first critical step in UPEC infection. Although type 1 fimbria expression increases during UPEC invasion of BECs, the underlying regulatory mechanisms remain poorly understood.

Background: Regular physical activity (PA) is important for reducing the risk of chronic diseases and improving overall health. Activity Quotient (AQ) is a novel metric that translates heart rate during PA into a weekly score, providing an objective measure of an individual's PA. We prospectively examined the association of AQ with cancer and cardiovascular (CVD) mortality outcomes, the two major causes of death, in a Taiwanese population.

Electronic address:

Rivers play an important role as reservoirs and sinks for antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs). However, it remains underexplored for the resistome and associated mobilome in river ecosystems, and hosts of riverine ARGs particularly the pathogenic ones are rarely studied. This study for the first time conducted a longitudinal metagenomic analysis to unveil the resistome, mobilome, and microbiome in river water, by collecting samples from 16 rivers in Hong Kong over a three-year period and using both short-read and long-read sequencing.

Beijing Key Laboratory of Technology and Application for Anti-Infective New Drugs Research and Development, Institute of Medicinal Biotechnology, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences and Peking Union Medical College, Beijing 100050, China. Electronic address:

Infectious diseases caused by drug-resistant bacteria represent one of the most significant global public challenges of this century. There is an urgent need for the treatment of drug-resistant Gram-negative bacterial infections. A series of 3,4-dihydro-2H-[1,3]oxazino[5,6-h]quinoline derivatives were synthesized and evaluated for their antibacterial activity against Gram-negative bacteria including strains from ATCC and clinical isolates, initially revealing the structure-activity relationship.
