Nanoparticle-mediated light-driven LAMP combined with test strips for sensitive and rapid visual detection of antibiotic resistance genes.

J Hazard Mater

December 2024

State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resources, Jiangnan University, Wuxi 214122, China; International Joint Laboratory on Food Safety, Institute of Analytical Food Safety, School of Food Science and Technology, Jiangnan University, Wuxi, Jiangsu 214122, China. Electronic address:

Antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) are markers of drug-resistant pathogens, monitoring them contributes to prevent resistance to drugs. The detection methods for ARGs including PCR and isothermal amplification are sensitive and selective. However, it may take several hours or cannot be used on spot.

This work aims to deal with the challenges associated with designing complementary bifunctional electrocatalysts and a separator/membrane that enables rechargeable zinc-air batteries (RZABs) with nearly solid-state operability. This solid-state RZAB was accomplished by integrating a bifunctional electrocatalyst based on Ru-RuO interface nanoparticles supported on nitrogen-doped (N-doped) graphene (Ru-RuO/NGr) and a dual-doped poly(acrylic acid) hydrogel (d-PAA) electrolyte soaked in KOH with sodium stannate additive. The catalyst shows enhanced activity and stability toward the two oxygen reactions, i.

Carbon microspheres (CMSs) are recognized as highly effective microwave absorbers due to their exceptional wave absorption properties. In this study, 5,10,15,20-tetrakis(4-aminophenyl)porphyrin, a metamaterial, was chemically bonded to CMSs─considered a conjugated carbon structure─using a 1,3-dibromopropane linker to explore the synergistic properties and microwave absorption capabilities of the synthesized composite. The synthesized structures were characterized by using X-ray diffraction, FE-SEM, Fourier transform infrared, diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, and VNA analyses.

Substance migration in the synthesis of single-atom catalysts.

Chem Commun (Camb)

January 2025

Key Laboratory of Functional Molecular Solids, Ministry of Education, College of Chemistry and Materials Science, Anhui Normal University, Wuhu 241002, China.

Substance migration is universal and crucial in the synthesis of catalysts, which directly affects their existing form and the micro-structure of their active sites. Realizing migration during the synthesis of single-atom catalysts (SACs) is beneficial for not only increasing their metal loading capacity but also manipulating the electronic structures (coordination structure, long-range interactions, ) of their metal sites. This review summarizes the thermodynamics and kinetic processes involved in the synthesis of SACs to unveil the fundamental principles involved in their synthesis.

Rapid Crystallization and Versatile Metalation of Acetylhydrazone-Linked Covalent Organic Frameworks for Heterogenous Catalysis.

J Am Chem Soc

January 2025

School of Physical Science and Technology, Shanghai Key Laboratory of High-Resolution Electron Microscopy, State Key Laboratory of Advanced Medical Materials and Devices, ShanghaiTech University, Shanghai 201210, China.

Covalent organic frameworks (COFs) hold promise in heterogeneous metal catalysis benefiting from their robust, crystalline, and porous structures. However, synthetic challenges persist in prolonged crystallization times, limited metal loading, and uncertain coordination environments. Here, we present the rapid crystallization and versatile metalation of new acetylhydrazone-linked COFs (AH-COFs) by condensation of ketone and hydrazide components, featuring full conversion within 30 min under open-air and mild conditions.
