Assay for Transposase-Accessible Chromatin with sequencing (ATAC-seq) is a powerful, high-throughput technique for assessing chromatin accessibility and understanding epigenomic regulation. Neutrophils, as a crucial leukocyte type in immune responses, undergo substantial chromatin architectural changes during differentiation and activation, which significantly impact the gene expression necessary for their functions. ATAC-seq has been instrumental in uncovering key transcription factors in neutrophil maturation, revealing pathogen-specific epigenomic signatures, and identifying therapeutic targets for autoimmune diseases.

Sjögren disease (SjD) is a systemic autoimmune disorder affecting both children and adults, with a wide range of clinical phenotypes. It remains a challenging condition to recognise and diagnose early and manage effectively. The heterogeneous nature of the presentation, variable disease course and overlapping symptoms with other autoimmune conditions often result in delayed diagnosis.

Vitiligo is a chronic autoimmune disorder that profoundly impacts patients' quality of life. Real-world data on vitiligo in Japan are limited. This descriptive, cross-sectional study used a claims database to evaluate vitiligo prevalence, patient demographics, treatments, and comorbidities in Japanese patients with vitiligo.

Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpesvirus (KSHV) employs diverse mechanisms to subvert host immune responses, contributing to its infection and pathogenicity. As an immune evasion strategy, KSHV encodes the Membrane-Associated RING-CH (MARCH)-family E3 ligases, K3, and K5, which target and remove several immune regulators from the cell surface. In this study, we investigate the impact of K3 and K5 on lymphotoxin receptor (LTβR) ligands, LTβ and LIGHT, which are type II transmembrane proteins and function as pivotal immune mediators during virus infection.

Background: Alopecia areata (AA) is a common autoimmune disease, causes sudden hair loss on the scalp, face, and sometimes other areas of the body. Previous studies have suggested more severe manifestations and higher recurrence rates in children than in adults. Moreover, pediatric AA patients with atopic predisposition often exhibit elevated IgE levels, early onset, and a poor prognosis.
