Objective: To assess whether there the final range of motion (ROM) results achieved by patients undergoing total knee arthroplasty (TKA) with prosthesis using Medial Pivot design are predictable.
Methods: Between January and August of 2014, 155 patients with primary osteoarthritis of knee who underwent TKA using the prosthesis ADVANCE Medial Pivot were prospectively assessed. All ROM measures were made and recorded before, during, and after surgery. All patients were clinically assessed preoperatively and postoperatively (15, 45 days, three months, six months, one year, and annually thereafter after surgery); their functional status was assessed using the WOMAC questionnaire.
Results: Significant differences ( < 0.001) were observed between the means and medians of ROM in the preoperative when compared with those during the perioperative; the perioperative values, when compared with those after six months postoperative, were also different ( < 0.001). No significant differences were found between the means and medians ROM between the intraoperative period and at the 45-day assessment (ns) and between the means and medians ROM between the preoperative period and at the six-month evaluation (ns).
Conclusion: The final ROM achieved by patients that underwent TKA with medial pivot prosthesis can be predicted. The perioperative ROM correlates with that at 45 days after surgery. The final ROM is correlated with that of the pre-operative period.

Medial meniscus ramp tears are tears of the posteromedial capsule or peripheral rim of the posteromedial meniscus that frequently occur with anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tears. The incidence and prevalence of medial meniscus ramp tears has been increasing in the recent literature due to the increased understanding of the anatomy and diagnosis of these tears. When a patient presents with an ACL tear, a medial meniscus ramp tear should be suspected if the patient has a grade 3+ Lachman or pivot shift exam, a vertical line of increased signal intensity in the posterior capsule or peripheral meniscus on magnetic resonance imagining (MRI), or posteromedial tibial plateau bone bruising on MRI.

Purpose: To compare graft remodeling, as measured by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), and clinical outcomes between patients who underwent isolated anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) versus combined anterior cruciate ligament and anterolateral ligament reconstruction (ACLR + ALLR).
Methods: A retrospective review was conducted on patients who underwent primary ACLR with quadruple hamstring grafts between January 2019 and March 2022, with a minimum follow-up period of 2 years. Patients were categorized into two groups based on the addition of ALLR with tibialis anterior allografts: an isolated ACLR group and an ACLR + ALLR group.

Background: Unrestricted kinematic alignment (uKA) in total knee arthroplasty (TKA) has the theoretical advantage of reproducing patients' constitutional alignment and restoring the pre-arthritic joint line position and obliquity. However, modifications of the original uKA technique have been proposed due to the potential risk of mechanical failure and instability. Given the significant variability in soft tissue behavior within the same bony morphology group, uKA pure knee resurfacing could be occasionally detrimental.

Introduction: Micromotion analysis predicts component fixation survival in Total Knee Arthroplasty (TKA) but a paucity of literature exists for medial pivot designs. This clinical study examined the tibial component micromotion in a second-generation medial pivot TKA.
Methods: This prospective single-center clinical cohort trial involved 35 patients with a mean patient age of 71 years.

Purpose: The efficacy of medial pivot total knee arthroplasty (MP TKA) in treating valgus knees that may cause medial instability is unknown. The purpose of this study was to investigate the in vivo kinematics of MP TKA for the valgus knees and compare them to those for the varus knees.
Methods: The kinematics of 19 valgus knees and 19 varus knees operated in the MP TKA were investigated under fluoroscopy during squatting using a two- to three-dimensional registration technique.
