Published: April 2017

An air-stable, thermally robust, and well-defined Cu(I) PNP pincer complex based on the 2,6-diaminopyridine scaffold is described. This complex is an active catalyst for the cross-couplings of a range of aryl and heteroaryl (including benzoxazole, thiazole, pyridine, and thiophene) halides with different organomagnesium reagents, alkynes, and aryl-amines giving excellent to good isolated yields.

Small molecules are frontline therapeutics for many diseases; however, they are often limited by their poor solubility. Therefore, hydrophobic small molecules are often encapsulated or prepared as pure drug nanoparticles. Navitoclax, used to eliminate senescent cells, is one such small molecule that faces challenges in translation due to its hydrophobicity and toxic side effects.

A common aromatic and phenolic pollutant, p-nitrophenol (PNP), is widely used in various industry and has serious risk to the environmental health. Biosensors have been extensively employed as an alternative technology for pollutants monitoring. By mining the new sensing elements, more specific biosensors could be characterized for highly sensitive detection.

Objective: To investigate the molecular mechanism of lipid metabolism disorder in mouse spleen tissues due to high-altitude hypoxia.

Methods: Ten C57BL/6 male mice were randomly divided into normoxia group (maintained at an altitude of 400 m) and high-altitude hypoxia group (maintained at 4200 m) for 30 days (=5). Lipidomics and metabolomics analyses of the spleen tissue of the mice were conducted using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MS) to identify the differential metabolites, which were further analyzed by KEGG enrichment and pathway analyses, and the differential genes were screened through transcriptome sequencing.

Herein, the direct oxidation of furfuryl alcohols and furfurals to the corresponding furoic acids is performed highly efficiently with potassium hydroxide as the base in the presence of a catalytic amount of PNP pincer manganese catalyst in dioxane. The manganese catalytic system can not only achieve the dehydrogenation conversion of furfuryl alcohols to prepare furoic acids but can also achieve the synthesis of furoic acids from furfurals under more moderate conditions and with less reaction time. In addition, the bifunctional furfuryl alcohols or furfurals can also be efficiently converted into dicarboxylic acid products under optimal reaction conditions.

A novel high-speed and process-compatible carrier-stored trench-gate bipolar transistor (CSTBT) combined with split-gate technology is proposed in this paper. The device features a split polysilicon electrode in the trench, where the left portion is equipotential with the cathode. This design mitigates the impact of the anode on the trench gate, resulting in a reduction in the gate-collector capacitance (C) to improve the dynamic characteristics.
