Background And Aims: Emergence delirium (ED) during the postanesthesia recovery phase presents significant challenges, especially among pediatric patients, with incidence rates spanning from 2% to 80%. This study sought to assess and compare the effectiveness of propofol and dexmedetomidine in addressing ED in pediatric patients undergoing sevoflurane anesthesia. The primary aim was to ascertain the prevalence of ED in both treatment cohorts, while secondary outcomes encompassed postoperative pain, hemodynamic responses, and the occurrence of complications.

Purpose: Safe perioperative management of patients undergoing transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is crucial. Remimazolam is a newly developed short-acting benzodiazepine. We hypothesized that combining remimazolam and flumazenil would reduce emergence time compared with sevoflurane in patients undergoing general anesthesia for TAVI.

Sevoflurane is extensively employed as an inhalation anesthetic in medical practices, due to its promising pharmacokinetics. Conversely, the data regarding effects of prolonged exposure to trace amounts of sevoflurane on the female reproductive system is obscure. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the reproductive toxicity and underlying mechanism of long-term sevoflurane inhalation in female rats.

Background And Aims: Adequacy of Anaesthesia (AoA) and CONOX are combined monitors that assess levels of anaesthesia and analgesia and give a comprehensive score. No studies have measured and compared the total consumption of inhaled anaesthetic agents while using these monitors. We designed a study to compare AoA and CONOX in terms of sevoflurane usage, fentanyl usage and recovery from the effects of anaesthesia.
