Objective: to identify the prevalence of Metabolic Syndrome and its components in a population of patients with type 2 Diabetes Mellitus.
Method: a cross-sectional study was conducted with 201 diabetic patients. A descriptive analysis and Chi-square and Fisher's exact tests ( p <0.05) were performed.
Results: the majority of participants were females and overweight, with a mean age of 63.1 years and a low level of education, and categorized as physically inactive. Of all individuals investigated, 50.7% were diagnosed with Metabolic Syndrome and 92% had at least one of the syndrome components with values beyond those recommended.
Conclusion: it is essential to take preventive actions and develop studies that help to identify the factors associated with this syndrome.

Objectives: Exocrine pancreatic insufficiency has been demonstrated in type 1 diabetes (T1D); lower concentrations of pancreatic enzymes have been associated with metabolic risk (MR). Influence of puberty and MR factors on serum concentrations of amylase and lipase remain unexplored in Indian youth with T1D. 1) To characterize and predict determinants of serum amylase and lipase concentrations in adolescents/youth with T1D.

Background: Low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) is a well-recognized risk factor for cardiovascular diseases. However, several clinical studies demonstrated an inverse association between LDL-C and mortality risk in patients with acute myocardial infarction (AMI), known as the lipid paradox. This study aims to investigate the potential impact of inflammation on the association between LDL-C levels and mortality risks.

Background: Long non-coding RNA 01116 (linc01116) has been shown to be dysregulated in many tumors, and is closely related to the prognosis. This meta-analysis aimed to examine the correlation between linc01116 expression and cancer prognosis.
Methods: Six electronic databases were searched, and eligible studies were screened based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria.

Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the prognostic impact of computed tomography (CT)-based body composition parameters in metabolically unhealthy normal-weight patients (MUHNW) with aortic stenosis (AS) undergoing transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
Methods: This prospective cohort study involved adults with normal weight scheduled for TAVR. Patients were divided into two groups: metabolically healthy normal-weight (MHNW) and MUHNW.

Background: The prognostic significance of Neutrophil-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (NLR) and Platelet-to-Lymphocyte Ratio (PLR) in Small Cell Lung Cancer (SCLC) patients receiving platinum-based chemotherapy is debated.
Methods: This study aims to elucidate their roles in survival outcomes. A systematic search across PubMed, Embase, Web of Science, and Cochrane Library identified relevant studies.
