The partial amino acid sequence of rat topoisomerase I was determined by gas-phase microsequencing. Seven tryptic peptides closely matched the sequences deduced from human topoisomerase I cDNA (94.5% homology). Similarity to sequences deduced from baker's yeast and fission yeast genomic DNA were restricted to conserved domains which may represent important sites of interaction with DNA or with other proteins.

Background: The poultry industry faces challenges with the high cost and environmental impact of Soybean meal. Feather meal, a byproduct with low digestibility due to its keratin content, is a potential alternative. Recent biotechnological advances, including enzymatic and bacterial hydrolysis, have enhanced its digestibility and nutritional value.

In this study, Response Surface Methodology (RSM) and Artificial Neural Networks (ANN) were developed to estimate the equilibrium solubility and partial pressure of CO in blended aqueous solutions of diisopropanolamine (DIPA) and 2-amino-2-methylpropanol (AMP). In this study, several key parameters were analyzed to understand the behavior of the aqueous DIPA/AMP system for CO capture. Including DIPA (9-21 wt%), AMP (9-21 wt%), temperature (323.

Objective: Idiopathic epilepsy (IE) is the most common chronic neurological disease in dogs and an established natural animal model for human epilepsy types with genetic and unknown etiology. However, the metabolic pathways underlying IE remain largely unknown.
Methods: Plasma samples of healthy dogs (n = 39) and dogs with IE (n = 49) were metabolically profiled (n = 121 known target metabolites) and fingerprinted (n = 1825 untargeted features) using liquid chromatography coupled to mass spectrometry.

The complexity of modern food supply chains limits the effectiveness of targeted approaches to address food traceability issues. Untargeted metabolomics provides a comprehensive profile of small molecules present within biological samples. In this study, the potential of ultra-high performance liquid chromatography-ion mobility-high resolution mass spectrometry (UHPLC-IMS-HRMS) to discriminate bovine milk samples collected at individual level was evaluated for traceability purposes.

Gualou-Xiebai-Banxia (GXB) decoction shows potential for treating myocardial ischemia (MI), although its underlying mechanism is not fully understood. In this study, a multimodal metabolomics approach, combining gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) and H-NMR, was employed to investigate the cardioprotective effects of GXB in a rat model of myocardial ischemia induced by ligation. ELISA assays and HE staining demonstrated that GXB effectively reduced myocardial injury, oxidative stress markers, and myocardial fibrosis.
