The effective prevention of many infectious and non-infectious diseases relies on people concurrently adopting multiple prevention behaviors. Purpose: In decisions relating to cancer treatment, the risks and benefits of treatment and the patient's preferences must be considered to ensure concordance with goals of care. Shared decision making (SDM) can facilitate these discussions and is associated with reduced decision conflict. This study aimed to characterise decision making for advanced cancer patients at a UK tertiary cancer centre and identify who may be at risk of suboptimal SDM and increased decision conflict.

Objective: Many people with inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) experience fatigue, pain and faecal incontinence that some feel are inadequately addressed. It is unknown how many have potentially reversible medical issues underlying these symptoms.
Methods: We conducted a study testing the feasibility of a patient-reported symptom checklist and nurse-administered management algorithm ('Optimise') to manage common medical causes of IBD-related fatigue, pain and faecal incontinence.

Matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-induced collagen degradation at the resin-dentin interface remains a significant challenge for maintaining the longevity of dental restorations. This study investigated the effects of epigallocatechin-3-gallate (EGCG), a potent MMP inhibitor, on dental adhesive curing efficiency when encapsulated in halloysite nanotubes (HNTs). EGCG-loaded HNTs were incorporated into a commercial dental adhesive (Adper Scotchbond Multi-Purpose) at 7.
