The content of aldosterone (A) was studied in rat adrenal glands, blood plasma and peripheral tissues--in the myocardium, skeletal muscles, thymus and liver--1 h after the administration of alpha-adrenergic stimulator noradrenaline and beta-adrenergic stimulator isoprenaline and after simultaneous administration of alpha- and beta-blockers and a sympatholytic agent (pyrroxan, propranolol and bretylium tosylate respectively). Adrenergic stimulation did not change the level of A in the adrenal glands, raised its blood concentration and, to a greater extent, its level in the peripheral tissues. A marked increase in the blood concentration of A resulted from isoprenaline and its accumulation in tissues--from noradrenaline. A decrease in the level of adrenergic activity considerably lowered the A content in the adrenal glands, blood plasma and peripheral tissues excluding the myocardium where this value was higher than in the blood.

Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA), a steroid hormone produced by the adrenal glands, plays a key role in various physiological processes, including bone health. Its age-related decline is linked to reduced bone density, though the mechanisms by which DHEA affects bone metabolism remain complex. This review summarises the diverse effects of DHEA on bone metabolism and density, highlighting its therapeutic potential; Methods: A literature search on the effects of DHEA on bone-related parameters was conducted from PubMed and Scopus using a specific search string, and after removing duplicates and irrelevant articles, 36 relevant full-text studies were included; Results: DHEA promotes osteoblast differentiation and proliferation, regulates the RANKL/OPG ratio, and inhibits osteoclastogenesis and bone resorption.

Cytochrome P450 17A1 (CYP17A1) catalyzes two enzymatic reactions in the biosynthesis of dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) from pregnenolone. In pregnant humans, the adrenal gland is responsible for DHEA biosynthesis, which is then sulfated by SULT2A1 and released into the bloodstream. This sulfated DHEA is subsequently taken up by the placenta and deconjugated to serve as a precursor for estrogen biosynthesis.

Purpose: This study aimed to assess the biodistribution and radiation dosimetry of 68Ga-DATA5m LM4 in patients with gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors.
Patients And Methods: Eight patients (5 females and 3 males) with various gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors were included in the study. Each patient underwent 3 whole-body PET scans at 10, 60, and 120 minutes after receiving an IV injection of approximately 162.

Cardiac metastases from bladder cancer are extremely rare and typically associated with a poor prognosis. We here report a case of a 74-year-old woman who had been diagnosed with multiple bladder cancer and later developed pelvic recurrence and multiple bone metastases. Second-line pembrolizumab treatment achieved complete remission.
