Purpose: Iodine nutrition during pregnancy plays an important role in fetal development and maternal outcomes. Iodine deficiency has been proved to be associated with maternal thyroid dysfunction, adverse fetal outcomes and neurodevelopmental disorders in offspring. At present, there are few studies concentrate on the effects of iodine excess during pregnancy on thyroid function, maternal and neonatal outcomes, and the results are still controversial.

Purpose: Early gestational diabetes mellitus (eGDM) refers to elevated blood glucose levels not meeting the criteria for overt diabetes before 20 weeks gestation. Sandhoff Disease (SD), a fatal neurodegenerative disorder, is caused by the absence of ß-hexosaminidase (Hex) and subsequent accumulation of GM2 ganglioside in lysosomes. Previous studies have led to adeno-associated virus (AAV) gene therapy for children with GM2 gangliosidosis in both expanded access and Phase I/II clinical trials via intracranial and/or cerebrospinal fluid-based delivery. The current study investigated intravenous (IV) gene therapy of SD cats, treated at one month of age with a bicistronic AAV vector.

We describe the case of a 36-year-old woman with a past medical history of low grade right frontal lobe glioma and focal epilepsy presenting with subacute, progressive, multifocal myoclonus and neck and back pain. Unlike her typical seizures, the myoclonus exhibited a distinct semiology, involving both positive and negative muscle jerks affecting multiple limb muscles while sparing the face. In addition, neurological examination revealed low-amplitude, arrhythmic movements of the hands and fingers, resembling minipolymyoclonus.
