An algorithm is proposed for the simulation of molecular systems with hybrid quantum chemical (QC) and molecular mechanical (MM) potentials that permits the adaptive partitioning of the atoms in the system between QC and MM regions. In contrast to existing methods, the algorithm requires only a single QC calculation of the QC/MM system per energy calculation and yet has consistent energy and forces, which makes it suitable for geometry optimizations and molecular dynamics calculations within the microcanonical ensemble, in addition to other types of simulation. This article describes the algorithm and its implementation, presents some simple test cases with both semiempirical and density functional theory QC/MM potentials, and discusses perspectives for future work.

Background: Kidney tumors, common in the urinary system, have widely varying survival rates post-surgery. Current prognostic methods rely on invasive biopsies, highlighting the need for non-invasive, accurate prediction models to assist in clinical decision-making.
Purpose: This study aimed to construct a K-means clustering algorithm enhanced by Transformer-based feature transformation to predict the overall survival rate of patients after kidney tumor resection and provide an interpretability analysis of the model to assist in clinical decision-making.

This document aims to provide good practice recommendations in order to support maternal-foetal medicine specialists, clinical geneticists and clinical laboratory geneticists in the management of pregnancies obtained after the transfer of an embryo tested with preimplantation genetic testing (PGT). It was drafted by geneticists expert in preimplantation genetics and prenatal genetic diagnosis belonging to the "Working Group in Cytogenomics, Prenatal and Reproductive Genetics" of the "Italian Society of Human Genetics" (SIGU). In particular, the paper addresses the diagnostic algorithm to be applied in prenatal follow-up depending on the type of PGT performed, the results obtained and the related diagnostic value based on the most recent literature data and Italian and international recommendations.

Analysis of the symmetry of the brain hemispheres at the level of individual structures and dominant tissue features has been the subject of research for many years in the context of improving the effectiveness of imaging methods for the diagnosis of brain tumor, stroke, and Alzheimer's disease, among others. One useful approach is to reliably determine the midline of the brain, which allows comparative analysis of the hemispheres and uncovers information on symmetry/asymmetry in the relevant planes of, for example, CT scans. Therefore, an effective method that is robust to various geometric deformations, artifacts, varying noise characteristics, and natural anatomical variability is sought.

Background: The heterogeneity of breast cancer (BC) necessitates the identification of novel subtypes and prognostic models to enhance patient stratification and treatment strategies. This study aims to identify novel BC subtypes based on PANoptosis-related genes (PRGs) and construct a robust prognostic model to guide individualized treatment strategies.
Methods: The transcriptome data along with clinical data of BC patients were sourced from the TCGA and GEO databases.

Breast invasive carcinoma (BRCA) affects women worldwide, and despite advancements in diagnosis, prevention, and treatment, outcomes remain suboptimal. TNIP1, a novel target involved in multiple immune signaling pathways, influences tumor development and survival. However, the connection between BRCA and TNIP1 remains unclear.
