In this paper, an in-motion coarse alignment method is proposed based on the reconstructed observation vectors. Since the complicated noises are contained in the outputs of the inertial sensors, the components of measurement observation vectors, which are constructed by the sensors' outputs, are analyzed in detail. To suppress the high-frequency noises, an effective digital filter based on the Infinite Impulse Response technology is employed. On the basis of the parameter models of the observation vectors, a new form Kalman filter, which is also an adaptive filter, is designed for the recognition of the parameter matrix. Furthermore, a robust filter technology, which is based on the Huber's M-estimation, is employed to suppress the gross outliers, which are caused by the movement of the carrier. Simulation test and field trial are designed to verify the proposed method. All the alignment results demonstrate that the performance of the proposed method is superior to the conventional optimization-based alignment and the digital filter alignment, which are the current popular methods.

Many vector-borne diseases are sensitive to changes in land use and climate; hence, it is important to understand the factors that govern the vector populations. Ixodid ticks, which serve as vectors for multiple diseases, have a slow life cycle compared with many of their hosts. The observable questing population represents only a fraction of the total tick population and may include overlapping cohorts in each stage.

Schistosomiasis, caused by the infection with Schistosoma japonicum, remains a significant public health concern in China. As the sole intermediate host of S. japonicum, the breeding and spread of Oncomelania hupensis contribute significantly to the potential risk of disease occurrence and transmission.

Background: Emodepside is an anthelmintic used in veterinary medicine that is currently under investigation in human clinical trials for the treatment of soil-transmitted helminths and possibly Onchocerca volvulus. Emodepside targets the calcium-activated voltage-gated potassium slowpoke 1 (SLO-1) channels of presynaptic nerves of pharynx and body wall muscle cells of nematodes leading to paralysis, reduced locomotion and egg laying, starvation, and death. Emodepside also has activity against Drosophila melanogaster SLO-1 channels.

Dengue is a viral disease present in many regions of the world. Aedes aegypti transmits it, and the most effective way to eliminate the mosquito is during the larval stage. Seaweeds possess metabolites with insecticidal properties, making them potential sources of new larvicides and viable alternatives to synthetic products used to control insect vectors of diseases.

Using time as an additional design parameter in electromagnetism, photonics, and wave physics is attracting considerable research interest, motivated by the possibility to explore physical phenomena and engineering opportunities beyond the limits of time-invariant systems. Here, we report the experimental demonstration of enhanced broadband absorption of electromagnetic waves in a continuously modulated time-varying system, exceeding one of the key theoretical limits of linear time-invariant absorbers. This is achieved by harnessing the frequency-wave vector transitions and enhanced interference effects enabled by breaking both continuous space- and time-translation symmetries in a periodically time-modulated absorbing structure operating at radio frequencies.
