The combinatorial syntheses of a library of novel dihydrothiophenone-engrafted dispiro oxindole/indenoquinoxaline-pyrrolidine/pyrrolothiazole/indolizine hybrid heterocycles have been realized through a chemo-, regio-, and stereoselective multicomponent 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition strategy.

We aimed to determine the persisting effects of various exercise modalities and intensities on functional capacity after periods of training cessation in older adults. A comprehensive search was conducted across the Cochrane Library, PubMed/MEDLINE, Scopus, and Web of Science Core Collection up to March 2024 for randomized controlled trials examining residual effects of physical exercise on functional capacity in older adults ≥ 60 years. The analysis encompassed 15 studies and 21 intervention arms, involving 787 participants.

Background: This study investigated the long-term impact of the primary school-based multicomponent lifestyle intervention "Lekker Fit!" (LF) on obesity-related outcomes, and studied whether the impact differed between population subgroups.
Methods: Children from the Generation R Study (Rotterdam, the Netherlands) were categorized into the LF group (6 years exposure, between the ages 6/7 to 12/13 years) or regular school group (no exposure). BMI and DXA-derived fat mass were assessed after 4 years of intervention (age 10 years), and 1.

A functional bioink with potential in bone tissue engineering must be subjected to critical investigation throughout its intended lifespan. The aim of this study was to develop alginate-gelatin-based (Alg-Gel) multicomponent bioinks systematically and to assess the short- and long-term exposure responses of human bone marrow stromal cells (hBMSCs) printed within these bioinks with and without crosslinking. The first generation of bioinks was established by incorporating a range of cellulose nanofibrils (CNFs), to evaluate their effect on viscosity, printability and cell viability.
