As a manifestation of the molecular Aharonov-Bohm effect, tunneling-facilitated dissociation under a conical intersection (CI) requires the inclusion of the geometric phase (GP) to ensure a single-valued adiabatic wave function encircling the CI. In this work, we demonstrate using a simple two-dimensional model that the GP induces destructive interference for vibrational states with even quanta in the coupling mode, but it leads to constructive interference for those with odd quanta. The interference patterns are manifested in tunneling wave functions and clearly affect the tunneling lifetime. It is further shown that the inclusion of the diagonal Born-Oppenheimer correction is necessary for agreement with exact results.

We treat edge-mode resonance that may exist at boundaries of transversely finite beams illuminating a photonic lattice. The lattice is in the dark state signifying a perfect bound state in the continuum (BIC). The dark state is non-radiative in symmetric systems because lateral waves cannot couple to the lattice due to destructive interference between counter-propagating waves.

This paper presents a short history of the discovery by Rodney Loudon and Heidi Fearn of the counter-intuitive destructive interference effect occurring when two indistinguishable photons meet at a beamsplitter. This effect, commonly known as the Hong Ou Mandel effect, underpins much of present day photonic quantum information processing. Here I try to review its development from inception to present day proposals of million qubit photonic quantum computers.

Destructive quantum interference (DQI) leads to a decrease in the conductance of certain well-documented molecules. Experimental observations have revealed both direct and indirect manifestations of DQI, although a comprehensive understanding of the underlying causes of these distinct outcomes remains elusive. In both cases, DQI lowers the conductance, but only the direct case exhibits a characteristic V-shaped dip in differential conductance.

We investigate cross-correlation between B quadrupole and B-F dipole-dipole coupling in two BODIPY compounds and one bis(benzoxazol)methanide in partially oriented polystyrene (PS) samples.
