-Acetyl cysteine (NAC) is an essential molecule that boosts acute lung injury (ALI) defense via its direct antioxidant capability. Nevertheless, the therapeutic use of NAC is limited due to its poor bioavailability and short half-life. In this study, NAC was grafted to the polyurethane consisting of poly(propylene fumarate), poly(thioketal), and 1,6-hexamethylene diisocyanate (PFTU) to reduce excessive oxidative stress and inflammatory factors in ALI.

Parkinson's disease (PD) is accompanied by a complex array of nonmotor and motor manifestations. The exploration of anti-inflammatory and antioxidant active ingredient as potential therapeutic interventions in PD-associated mood alterations has gained significant attention. This study aimed to assess the antidepressant and anxiolytic properties of luteolin (LTN), a potent antioxidant and anti-inflammatory component, using a 6-hydroxydopamine (6-OHDA)-induced animal model of PD.

Background/objectives: Transverse myelitis (TM) is a rare, acute inflammatory disorder affecting the spinal cord, with severe potential consequences, particularly in pediatric patients. Therapeutic plasma exchange (TPE) has emerged as a possible intervention for children unresponsive to high-dose corticosteroids. This study explores the efficacy of early TPE in pediatric TM through a case report and scoping review aiming to clarify the therapeutic benefits of TPE when used in conjunction with corticosteroids in children.

The purpose of the present study is to contribute to the establishment of a standard method for evaluating the adverse effects of nanomaterials by intratracheal administration. Low and high doses of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were administered to rats in a single administration or the same final dose as the single administration but divided over four administrations. Bronchoalveolar lavage examination on day 14 showed an inflammatory reaction and cytotoxicity in the lung, generally greater at the higher dose, and tending to be greater in the rats with four administrations at both the low and high doses.
