In major depressive disorder (MDD), alterations in ghrelin levels and cognitive impairment coexist, yet their association has remained largely elusive. This study aimed to investigate the association between ghrelin levels and cognition in both MDD patients and healthy controls (HCs) while also exploring sex-specific differences in this correlation. A total of 155 Chinese Han subjects, including 90 first-episode drug-naive MDD patients and 65 HCs, were enrolled.

Parkinson's disease (PD), a degenerative disorder of the central nervous system, is commonly diagnosed using functional medical imaging techniques such as single-photon emission computed tomography (SPECT). In this study, we utilized two SPECT data sets (n = 634 and n = 202) from different hospitals to develop a model capable of accurately predicting PD stages, a multiclass classification task. We used the entire three-dimensional (3D) brain images as input and experimented with various model architectures.

It has become increasingly recognized that neural signals can profoundly influence the prognosis of various cancer types. In the past years, we have witnessed "cancer neuroscience," which primarily focuses on the complex crosstalk between tumors and neural signals, emerging as a new, multidisciplinary direction of biomedical science. This review aims to summarize the current knowledge of this research frontier, with an emphasis on the neuroimmune mechanisms enacted through the reciprocal interactions between tumors and the central or peripheral nervous system.

Conjoined twinning is a special case of monozygotic, monoamniotic twinning. Human conjoined twinning, and vertebrate conjoined twinning in general, is a very rare phenomenon. It has been suggested that the risk of conjoined twinning increases with some medication and upon assisted reproduction.

Ethnopharmacological Relevance: Shilong Qingxue Granule (SQG), a traditional Chinese medicine, effectively treats the secondary neurological damage and functional deficits caused by cerebral hemorrhage, though its exact mechanism remains unclear.
Aim Of The Study: This study aimed to investigate the effects of SQG and its mechanisms.
Materials And Methods: we evaluated the effects of SQG and its extracts on glutamate induced nerve damage using in vivo and in vitro models.
