Background/aim: Immuno-oncology (IO) improves the prognosis of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC). Since research has so far been limited to clinical trials, we herein focused on the effects of IO-tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) combination therapy in real-world clinical settings.
Patients And Methods: We conducted a retrospective study on 125 patients with advanced RCC who received IO-TKI combination therapy or TKI monotherapy.

To evaluate the predictive utility of N6-methyladenosine (m6A)-associated long non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) for the prognosis and immunotherapy response in papillary renal cell carcinoma (pRCC). Transcriptomic data of pRCC samples were extracted from the TCGA database. The m6A-related lncRNAs were identified by Pearson correlation analysis.

Renorrhaphy is often performed after tumor resection during robotic-assisted laparoscopic partial nephrectomy (RAPN). This study aimed to investigate the association between renorrhaphy performance and inflammatory markers. A retrospective cohort study was conducted including patients with renal cell carcinoma who underwent RAPN at eight institutions in Japan between April 2016 and November 2023.

Circulating tumor cells and cell-free nucleic acids are novel diagnostic, prognostic and predictive tools for non-invasive and cost-effective cancer detection in liquid biopsy. Carbonic anhydrase IX (CAIX) has been proposed as a biomarker in urogenital tumors and urine sediment. Our aim was to evaluate CAIX full-length percentage (CAIX FL%) in urine-cell-free RNA (cfRNA) and its relationship with tumor-cell-associated RNA (TC-RNA).

Background: Approximately 5% to 10% of patients who undergo kidney transplantation develop ureteral stricture, which can be treated endoscopically or by open surgery, which is more effective but complications are common and potentially severe. Robotic surgery has begun to emerge as an alternative in reconstructive procedures. However, few studies have evaluated the role of robotic surgery in this clinical setting.
