The different types of adipose tissues fulfill a wide range of biological functions-from energy storage to hormone secretion and thermogenesis-many of which show pronounced variations over the course of the day. Such 24-h rhythms in physiology and behavior are coordinated by endogenous circadian clocks found in all tissues and cells, including adipocytes. At the molecular level, these clocks are based on interlocked transcriptional-translational feedback loops comprised of a set of clock genes/proteins. Tissue-specific clock-controlled transcriptional programs translate time-of-day information into physiologically relevant signals. In adipose tissues, clock gene control has been documented for adipocyte proliferation and differentiation, lipid metabolism as well as endocrine function and other adipose oscillations are under control of systemic signals tied to endocrine, neuronal, or behavioral rhythms. Circadian rhythm disruption, for example, by night shift work or through genetic alterations, is associated with changes in adipocyte metabolism and hormone secretion. At the same time, adipose metabolic state feeds back to central and peripheral clocks, adjusting behavioral and physiological rhythms. In this overview article, we summarize our current knowledge about the crosstalk between circadian clocks and energy metabolism with a focus on adipose physiology. © 2017 American Physiological Society. Albumin and γ-globulin concentrations in subcutaneous adipose tissues (SAT) have been quantified by multivariate regression based on admittance relaxation time distribution (mraRTD) under the fluctuated background of sodium electrolyte concentration. The mraRTD formulates P = Ac + Ξ (P: peak matrix of distribution function magnitude ɣP and frequency τP, c: concentration matrix of albumin cAlb, γ-globulin Gloc, and sodium electrolyte Nac, A: coefficient matrix of a multivariate regression model, and Ξ: error matrix). The mraRTD is implemented by two processes which are: 1) the training process of A through the maximum likelihood estimation of P and 2) the quantification process of cAlb, Gloc, and Nac through the model prediction.

Objective: Childhood overweight and obesity has been a major global problem for a long time, with a steadily increasing prevalence of obesity and a growing number of cases of serious health complications associated with childhood obesity. The main objective of the study is to assess the prevalence of overweight and obesity in boys and girls before the COVID-19 pandemic in the Czech Republic.
Methods: Body height, weight, BMI, and body composition (fat free mass, skeletal muscle mass, body fat, visceral fat area) were assessed in a cohort of 4,475 subjects (2,180 boys and 2,295 girls) aged 6-15 years.

Glucocorticoids and androgens affect each other in several ways. In metabolic organs such as adipose tissue and the liver, androgens enhance glucocorticoid-induced insulin resistance and promote fat accumulation in male mice. However, the direct contribution of the androgen receptor (AR) to these effects is unknown.

This study investigated the effect of oleogel consumption on lipid metabolism, gut microbiota and low-grade inflammation in rats fed with a high-fat diet. Male SD rats received either a control diet or high-fat diets for six weeks. The high-fat diets included a regular high-fat diet and high-fat diets in which lard was replaced with pure sunflower oil, un-gelled sunflower oil containing a dispersed gelator, or gelled sunflower oil with the gelator (oleogel).

This study expanded the existing literature on obesity and distortion of body image by examining subjective and objective body type among young medical workers, specifically investigating whether fat percentage independently influences body type cognitive bias. We recruited 264 participants (41.29% male, mean age 26.
