A historical review of the -group is provided and three new species are described from China: Wang & Wu, , Wang & Zhang, and Wang & Zhao, . One species, Ringdahl, 1934, is recorded for the first time from China. Illustrations of male terminalia of these four species and a taxonomic key to the males of known species in the group are given. The -group now includes 30 species distributed in the Holarctic Region and northern part of the Oriental Region.

In species with genetic sex determination (GSD), the sex identity of the soma determines germ cell fate. For example, in mice, XY germ cells that enter an ovary differentiate as oogonia, whereas XX germ cells that enter a testis initiate differentiation as spermatogonia. However, numerous species lack a GSD system and instead display temperature-dependent sex determination (TSD).

While machine learning (ML) models have been able to achieve unprecedented accuracies across various prediction tasks in quantum chemistry, it is now apparent that accuracy on a test set alone is not a guarantee for robust chemical modeling such as stable molecular dynamics (MD). To go beyond accuracy, we use explainable artificial intelligence (XAI) techniques to develop a general analysis framework for atomic interactions and apply it to the SchNet and PaiNN neural network models. We compare these interactions with a set of fundamental chemical principles to understand how well the models have learned the underlying physicochemical concepts from the data.

Supramolecular Engineering of Nanoceria for Management and Amelioration of Age-Related Macular Degeneration via the Two-Level Blocking of Oxidative Stress and Inflammation.

Adv Sci (Weinh)

Age-related macular degeneration (AMD), characterized by choroidal neovascularization (CNV), is the global leading cause of irreversible blindness. Current first-line therapeutics, vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) antagonists, often yield incomplete and suboptimal vision improvement, necessitating the exploration of novel and efficacious therapeutic approaches. Herein, a supramolecular engineering strategy to construct moringin (MOR) loaded α-cyclodextrin (α-CD) coated nanoceria (M@CCNP) is constructed, where the hydroxy and newly formed carbonyl groups of α-CD interact with the nanoceria surface via O─Ce conjunction and the isothiocyanate group of MOR inserts deeply into the α-CD cavity via host-guest interaction.

Differential Responses of Methylobacterium and Sphingomonas Species to Multispecies Interactions in the Phyllosphere.

The leaf surface, known as the phylloplane, presents an oligotrophic and heterogeneous environment due to its topography and uneven distribution of resources. Although it is a challenging environment, leaves support abundant bacterial communities that are spatially structured. However, the factors influencing these spatial distribution patterns are not well understood.

Genes encoding OXA-48-like carbapenem-hydrolyzing enzymes are often located on plasmids and are abundant among carbapenemase-producing (CPE) worldwide. After a large plasmid-mediated outbreak in 2011, routine screening of patients at risk of CPE carriage on admission and every 7 days during hospitalization was implemented in a large hospital in the Netherlands. The objective of this study was to investigate the dynamics of the hospitals' 2011 outbreak-associated plasmid among CPE collected from 2011 to 2021.
