With a rigid fused polyaromatic framework and a well-defined, highly symmetric molecular geometry, pentiptycenes are appealing building blocks for a variety of materials applications. Unfortunately, their use has been limited by the lengthy syntheses of their functionalized derivatives. This communication describes a highly efficient, brief, divergent paradigm for the preparation of octakis-substituted pentiptycene derivatives that starts with the preparation of an octakis(bromo) compound, which can be used as a Pd(0)-catalyzed coupling partner with suitable organometallic compounds to install a range of groups in high yields at the peripheral 2,3,6,7,14,15,19,20 positions, including methyl, allyl, vinyl, alkynyl, aryl, heteroaryl, and even bulky 4-(triphenylmethyl)phenyl substituents.

The growing global exchange of healthcare data requires more cohesive and effective regulatory frameworks to ensure fair access and protect patient privacy. However, cross-border regulatory rules for healthcare data diverge across countries, such as the EU, which highlights personal data rights and restricts cross-border flow of healthcare data through the GDPR, the United States, which emphasizes the free flow of healthcare data trade or services, and China, which emphasizes cross-border regulatory rules for healthcare data at the level of national data security. Such inconsistent policies often impede international medical research collaborations, undermine the effectiveness of telemedicine, and create barriers for healthcare providers to share patient information.

Objective: Patient-reported outcome (PRO) measures in community-based healthcare play a significant role in the emerging field of digital health. This qualitative study explored healthcare professionals' (HCPs') experiences of integrating 'MyPROfile' as a dialogue tool in consultations in community healthcare.
Methods: Adopting a qualitative approach with a social constructivist perspective, the study utilised qualitative interviews, participant observations, and focus group interviews.

Speciation is a continuous process driven by barriers to gene flow. Based on genome-wide SNPs (single nucleotide polymorphisms) of 190 toads from 31 sampling sites of Scutiger boulengeri complex, we found evidence for monophyly which represented a continuous speciation process of at least six lineages in S. boulengeri, which radiated and exhibited varying degrees of divergence and gene flow.

In endocrinology, there are many similarities in the regulation of gene expression between alleles, paralogous or orthologous genes, at the genetic or epigenetic level. However, there are also major differences in the spatial and temporal expression patterns of these genes, in particular between species. In few cases, it has been shown in vitro and/or in vivo that regulatory differences are mainly due to subtle differences (from one bp to less than 12bp) in the nucleotide sequence of transcription factor binding sites localized in the vicinity of the proximal promoter.

Mathematical and spatial abilities are positively related at both the behavioral and neural levels. Much of the evidence illuminating this relationship comes from classic laboratory-based experimental methods focused on cognitive performance despite most individuals also experiencing math and space in other contexts, such as in conversations or lectures. To broaden our understanding of math-space integration in these more commonplace situations, we used an auditory memory-encoding task with stimuli whose content evoked a range of educational and everyday settings related to math or spatial thinking.
