Purpose: Accurate detection of central venous catheter (CVC) misplacement is crucial for patient safety and effective treatment. Existing artificial intelligence (AI) often grapple with the limitations of label inaccuracies and output interpretations that lack clinician-friendly comprehensibility. This study aims to introduce an approach that employs segmentation of support material and anatomy to enhance the precision and comprehensibility of CVC misplacement detection.

Background: The standard of care for placement of a central venous catheter (CVC) includes a real-time ultrasound (US)-guided technique. We describe a rare case in which the guidewire penetrated the posterior wall of the vessel, forming a knot, which precluded simple removal. This occurred despite the procedure being performed under real-time US guidance.

Introduction/background: Budd-Chiari syndrome is a rare entity that is caused by an obstruction of the flow in the hepatic veins or inferior vena cava.
Case Presentation: Herein, we report a rare case of iatrogenic Budd-Chiari syndrome. A 52-year-old woman with chronic renal failure under hemodialysis, presented to our hospital for dyspnea caused by a large pleural effusion.
Purpose: Accurate placement of medical devices is crucial in critical care to prevent severe complications. This study aims to evaluate radiology residents' proficiency in identifying four specific critical misplacements of medical devices using the Wisdom in Diagnostic Imaging Simulation (WIDI SIM).
Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 1,102 responses from radiology residents who participated in the WIDI SIM between 2010 and 2022.

Point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) has established its role as a "third eye of a clinician" by virtue of its ability to provide real-time visual information. The present case highlights the role of POCUS in an 11-year-old girl with a misplaced hemodialysis catheter scheduled for surgical exploration with the removal of the catheter and direct arterial repair.
