1. Peromyscus leucopus exhibits multiple responses to different daylengths. The winter molt and gonadal regression are complete in populations chronically exposed to 12, 11, 10, or 9 h of light per day while hypertrophy of brown fat and occurrence of daily torpor were greater in mice on 9 or 10 h of light when compared to animals on 11 or 12 h photocycles. 2. A precise "critical" daylength is not observed in this species for gonadal regression, occurrence of daily torpor, or hypertrophy of brown fat. 3. Certain mice never exhibit a short-day response following 12 weeks exposure to 12, 11, 10, or 9 h of light per day.

In patients with transplant-eligible newly diagnosed multiple myeloma, induction therapy with a quadruplet regimen prior to autologous transplant is the standard of care. The phase III IFM2020-02-MIDAS study (NCT04934475) assessed a minimal residual disease (MRD)-driven consolidation and maintenance strategy following induction with isatuximab, carfilzomib, lenalidomide, and dexamethasone (IsaKRD). Here, we report safety and efficacy outcomes of six 28-day cycles of IsaKRD.

Purpose: Chemoradiation-induced lymphopenia is common and associated with poorer survival in multiple solid malignancies. However, the association between chemoradiation-related lymphopenia and survival outcomes in rectal cancer is yet unclear. The objective of this study was to evaluate the prognostic impact of lymphopenia and its predictors in patients with rectal cancer undergoing neoadjuvant chemoradiation.

Ependymoma (EPN) is a common form of brain tumor in children, often resistant to available cytotoxic therapies. Molecular profiling studies have led to a better understanding of EPN subtypes and revealed a critical role of oncogenes ZFTA-RELA fusion and EPHB2 in supratentorial ependymoma (ST-EPN). However, the immune system's role in tumor progression and response to therapy remains poorly understood.

Processing pathways between sensory and default mode network (DMN) regions support recognition, navigation, and memory but their organisation is not well understood. We show that functional subdivisions of visual cortex and DMN sit at opposing ends of parallel streams of information processing that support visually mediated semantic and spatial cognition, providing convergent evidence from univariate and multivariate task responses, intrinsic functional and structural connectivity. Participants learned virtual environments consisting of buildings populated with objects, drawn from either a single semantic category or multiple categories.

Beyond the light reflex, the pupil responds to various high-level cognitive processes. Multiple statistical regularities of stimuli have been found to modulate the pupillary response. However, most studies have used auditory or visual temporal sequences as stimuli, and it is unknown whether the pupil size is modulated by statistical regularity in the spatial arrangement of stimuli.
