Aim: A new sensitive LC-MS/MS method for the quantification of atenolol in human plasma and milk has been developed for clinical lactation studies.
Methods & Results: Atenolol and the internal standard, phenazone, were extracted from biological matrices by protein precipitation. A Phenomenex C-18 column and gradient chromatographic conditions were used for separation of the analyte, followed by detection with MS. Stability of samples was confirmed for atenolol in human plasma and milk for up to 3 months. Linearity range of 1-800 ng/ml (r = 0.9995), the precision within 15% CV and the recovery of the analyte (80-100% range) were achieved.
Conclusion: A new validated analytical method for atenolol in plasma and milk was developed.

This study aimed to explore the effect of anthocyanin-rich black sugarcane on milk production, plasma antioxidant capacity, and the storage period DPPH scavenging capacity of milk in lactating dairy cows. Sixteen lactating dairy cows were stratified and randomly assigned into two balanced dietary groups, namely Anthocyanin-rich black sugarcane (AS), and Napier grass (NG). The AS group demonstrated a significant decrease (p < 0.

Background: Industrial processing and storage of milk products can strongly increase protein glycation level. Previously, we have reported that ingestion of highly glycated milk protein attenuates the post-prandial rise in plasma lysine concentrations when compared to the ingestion of an equivalent amount of milk protein with a low glycation level. Whether the attenuated increase in plasma lysine availability is attributed to compromised protein digestion and subsequent lysine absorption remains to be established.

Introduction: Chemokines and their receptors are essential for leukocyte migration to several tissues, including human milk. Here, we evaluated the homing of T and B lymphocyte subsets to breast milk in response to ongoing respiratory infections in the nursing infant.
Methods: Blood and mature milk were collected from healthy mothers of nurslings with respiratory infections (Group I) and from healthy mothers of healthy nurslings (Group C).

Cleaning-in-place (CIP) is the most commonly used cleaning and sanitation procedure for removing fouling deposits. Traditional CIP includes a series of chemical cleaning cycles, including alkaline, acid, and sanitizer. However, these chemicals are hazardous to the environment and employees.

This study investigated the effects of rumen-degradable starch (RDS) on lactation performance, gastrointestinal fermentation, and plasma metabolomics in dairy cows. Six mid-lactation cows, fitted with rumen, duodenum, and ileum cannulas, were used in a duplicated 3 × 3 Latin square design with 28-day periods. The cows were fed a low RDS (LRDS; 62.
