An adverse role for obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) in cancer epidemiology and outcomes has recently emerged from clinical and animal studies. In animals, intermittent hypoxia (IH) mimicking OSA promotes tumor malignancy both directly and via host immune alterations. We hypothesized that IH could potentiate cancer aggressiveness through activation of the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) pathway and the concomitant increases in prostaglandin E2 (PGE). The contribution of the COX-2 in IH-induced enhanced tumor malignancy was assessed using celecoxib as a COX-2 specific inhibitor in a murine model of OSA bearing Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC1) tumors. Exposures to IH accelerated tumor progression with a tumor associated macrophages (TAMs) shift towards a pro-tumoral M2 phenotype. Treatment with celecoxib prevented IH-induced adverse tumor outcomes by inhibiting IH-induced M2 polarization of TAMs. Furthermore, TAMs isolated from IH-exposed mice treated with celecoxib reduced the proliferation of LLC1 naïve cells, while the opposite occurred with placebo-treated IH-exposed mice. Finally, in vitro IH exposures of murine macrophages and LLC1 cells showed that both cell types increased PGE release in response to IH. These results suggest a crucial role for the COX-2 signaling pathway in the IH-exacerbated malignant processes, and designate macrophages and lung adenocarcinoma cells, as potential sources of PGE.

Neuroendocrine neoplasms (NENs) encompass a diverse set of malignancies with limited precision therapy options. Recently, therapies targeting DLL3 have shown clinical efficacy in aggressive NENs, including small cell lung cancers and neuroendocrine prostate cancers. Given the continued development and expansion of DLL3-targeted therapies, we sought to characterize the expression of DLL3 and identify its clinical and molecular correlates across diverse neuroendocrine and non-neuroendocrine cancers.

Objective: Programmed Death-Ligand 1 (PD-L1) and Cytotoxic T Lymphocyte -Associated Antigen-4 (CTLA-4) are presently considered as prognostic markers and therapeutic targets in numerous human malignancies. The goal of this study was to determine whether PD-L1 and CTLA-4 might be used to predict patients' survival in Triple Negative Breast Cancer (TNBC).

Methods: This retrospective cohort study analyzed 100 primary TNBC cases that had surgical resection at the Oncology Center of Mansoura University (OCMU), Faculty of Medicine, Egypt.

Background: Cancer cachexia in breast cancer (BC) patients is not commonly reported, particularly in Indonesia. This study assessed the prevalence of cachexia in local patients with BC receiving chemotherapy, and the associated factors.

Methods: This cross-sectional study included 160 BC patients who started chemotherapy between July 2018 and June 2022.

Objective: To apply the Toronto Childhood Cancer Staging Guidelines (TG) and Estimate the Observed Survival Probabilities for Pediatric Patients with Leukemia and Lymphoma.

Methods: Staging at diagnosis was conducted according to tier 2 of the TG. The study cohort included patients aged 0 -19 years from the Population-Based Cancer Registry (PBCR) of Mato Grosso, diagnosed with leukemia and lymphoma between 2008 and 2017, with follow-up until December 31, 2022.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the influence of p16 immunohistochemical expression on the biochemical recurrence rate of pT2-pT3 prostate cancer.

Materials And Methods: A total of 488 pT2-pT3 stage prostate adenocarcinomas undergoing radical prostatectomy were included in this study. Following a review of Gleason classification and retrieval of sociodemographic and clinicopathological data, as well as the date of last consultation and biochemical recurrence, immunohistochemistry for p16 was performed.
