Diamond is regarded as a promising material for fabrication of high-power and high-frequency electronic devices due to its remarkable intrinsic properties, such as wide band gap energy, high carrier mobility, and high breakdown field. Meanwhile, since diamond has good biocompatibility, long-term durability, good chemical inertness, and a large electron-chemical potential window, it is a suitable candidate for the fabrication of biosensors. Here, we demonstrate the fabrication of hydrogenated diamond (H-diamond) based metal-insulator-semiconductor field-effect transistors (MISFETs). The fabrication is based on the combination of laser lithography, dry-etching, atomic layer deposition (ALD), sputtering deposition (SD), electrode evaporation, and lift-off techniques. The gate insulator is high-k HfO with a SD/ALD bilayer structure. The thin ALD-HfO film (4.0 nm) acts as a buffer layer to prevent the hydrogen surface of the H-diamond from plasma discharge damage during the SD-HfO deposition. The growth of H-diamond epitaxial layer, fabrication of H-diamond MISFETs, and electrical property measurements for the MISFETs is demonstrated. This chapter explains the fabrication of H-diamond FET based biosensors.

Plant protein-stabilized Pickering nanoemulsions show potential as plant-based milk substitutes; however, their stability is challenged by mechanical stress during transportation and oxidative deterioration during storage. Herein, soybean isolate protein-curcumin composite nanoparticle (SPI-Cur-NPs)-stabilized Pickering nanoemulsions were converted into microcapsule powders via spray-drying with maltodextrin (MD), trehalose anhydrous (TA), and inulin (IN) as wall materials. Robust intermolecular hydrogen bonds and an amorphous structure were formed using composite wall materials, reducing microcapsule surface fissures while improving encapsulation rate (92.

Ether-based electrolytes are known for their high stability with lithium metal anodes (LMAs), but they often exhibit poor high-voltage stability. Structural optimization of ether-based solvent molecules has been proven to effectively broaden the electrochemical window of these electrolytes, yet the optimization rules within cyclic ethers remain unclear. Herein, we investigate the impact of methyl substitution positions on the molecular properties of 1,3-dioxolane (DOL), a commonly used cyclic ether.

School of Materials Science and Engineering, Tianjin Key Laboratory of Materials Laminating Fabrication and Interface Control Technology, Hebei University of Technology, Tianjin 300130, China. Electronic address:

Ammonia borane (NHBH, AB) is considered a promising chemical hydrogen storage material. The development of efficient, stable, and economical catalysts for AB hydrolysis is essential for realizing the hydrogen energy economy. In this study, a series of p-p heterojunction catalysts, labeled M (P/S/Cl)-CuCoO, were fabricated using the high-temperature vapor phase method to achieve anionic interface gradient doping.

According to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) more than 14% of the world's food production is lost every year before reaching retail, and another 17% is lost during the retail stage. The use of the expiration date as the main estimator of the life-end of food products creates unjustified food waste. Sensors capable of quantifying the effective food freshness and quality could substantially reduce food waste and enable more effective management of the food chain.

Herein, we first report a photocatalytic OCM using CO2 as a soft oxidant for C2H6 production under mild conditions, where an efficient photocatalyst with unique interface sites is constructed to facilitate CO2 adsorption and activation, while concurrently boosting CH4 dissociation. As a prototype, the Au quantum dots anchored on oxygen-deficient TiO2 nanosheets are fabricated, where the Au-Vo-Ti interface sites for CO2 adsorption and activation are collectively disclosed by in situ Kelvin probe force microscopy, quasi in situ X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and theoretical calculations. Compared with single metal site, the Au-Vo-Ti interface sites exhibit the lower CO2 adsorption energy and decrease the energy barrier of the *CO2 hydrogenation step from 1.
