Rapid multiplex molecular syndromic panels (RMMSP) (3 or more pathogens and time-to-results < 6 h) allow simultaneous detection of multiple pathogens and genotypic resistance markers. Their implementation has revolutionized the clinical landscape by significantly enhancing diagnostic accuracy and reducing time-to-results in different critical conditions. The current revision is a comprehensive but not systematic review of the literature.

Bacteriophages are viruses that have the potential to combat bacterial infections caused by antimicrobial-resistant bacterial strains. In this study, we investigated a novel lytic bacteriophage, vB_EcoS_JSSK01, isolated from sewage in Hualien, Taiwan, which effectively combats multidrug-resistant (MDR) of the K1 capsular type. K1 is a major cause of severe extraintestinal infections, such as neonatal meningitis and urinary tract infections.

Background: Streptococcus pneumoniae causes invasive pneumococcal disease (IPD) in adults. The introduction of pneumococcal conjugate vaccines (PCVs) has reduced vaccine serotypes but has also led to the rise of non-vaccine serotypes. The aim of this study was to analyse pneumococcal lineages and their association with recent changes in IPD among adults in Spain.

Background: (AX) is an aerobic Gram-negative opportunistic bacteria known to inhabit various environments and is most commonly associated with nosocomial infections in immune-compromised patients. Although rare, AX can cause a variety of neurological infections, such as meningitis, ventriculitis, and osteomyelitis. Intravascular catheters, intrathecal pumps, and contaminated surgical instruments are potential vectors for such patients.
