The objective is to investigate the safety and clinical efficacy of Autologous Platelet Rich Plasma Concentrated Spray (Keratogrow®), for hair loss. Autologous -PRP spray, prepared from a small volume of blood, was applied on the selected patients' scalps at least twice daily. Three months treatments were given for each patient. The effectiveness of the medication was measured by changes in hair regrowth after 3 months determined by physical exam and digital photography. At the end of the 3 cycles of treatment, the patients presented clinical improvement in the mean number of hairs, with a mean increase of hairs in the target area, and a mean increase in total hair density compared with baseline values.

Enhancing the growth and essential oil components of Lavandula latifolia using Malva parviflora extract and humic acid as biostimulants in a field experiment.

Sci Rep

January 2025

Department of Floriculture, Ornamental Horticulture and Garden Design, Faculty of Agriculture (El-Shatby), Alexandria University, Alexandria, 21545, Egypt.

Natural extracts as biostimulants have the potential to enhance the productivity and growth of many medicinal and aromatic plants. This study aimed to enhance the growth, and essential oil (EO) content, as well as composition of Lavandula latifolia Medik. by using Malva parviflora L.

Background: The imbalance between Egypt's water requirements and supply necessitates the use of unconventional water sources, such as treated sewage water (TSW) and agricultural drainage water (ADW), to combat water scarcity. This study investigated the effects of foliar glycine betaine (GB) on vegetative growth parameters, physiological characteristics, photosynthetic pigments, leaf element contents, anatomical leaf structures, and antioxidant activity. The experiment was conducted in two successive seasons (2021/2022 and 2022/2023) using Kapok seedlings irrigated with ADW and TSW at different mixing ratios with normal irrigation water (NIW) (25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%), combined with foliar spraying of GB at concentrations of 0.

This study aimed to evaluate the antimicrobial effectiveness of cumin seed essential oil (CEO) after encapsulation in chickpea protein-maltodextrin matrix by spray drying and to provide insight into potential use as a natural ingredient in meat-based products. The surface morphology results of encapsulated CEO showed the dispersion in the wall material matrix, and the observed specific common peaks in the FT-IR spectra of encapsulated and non-encapsulated CEO proved the successful encapsulation. The antibacterial activity of non-encapsulated CEO against BC1402, ATCC 27853, Typhimurium ATCC 0402, ATCC 25923 were first evaluated by disc diffusion assay.

The two most extensively studied cannabinoids, cannabidiol (CBD) and delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), are used for myriad conditions. THC is predominantly eliminated via the cytochromes P450 (CYPs), whereas CBD is eliminated through both CYPs and UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs). The fractional contributions of these enzymes to cannabinoid metabolism have shown conflicting results among studies.

Organic foliar spraying: A method that synchronously reduces mercury methylation in soil and accumulation in vegetable.

Environ Pollut

December 2024

College of Resources and Environmental Engineering, Guizhou University, Guiyang, 550025, China; Faculty of Architecture and Engineering, Guizhou Polytechnic of Construction, Guiyang, 551400, China.

Although the use of foliar spraying with organic matter has been extensively studied and applied to reduce heavy metals in plants, research on its application for reducing mercury (Hg) accumulation in plants, particularly the more toxic methylmercury (MeHg), remains scarce. Furthermore, previous researches on the barrier mechanisms of foliar spraying primarily concentrated on the effects of spraying agents on plant physiological and biochemical indicators, with limited focus on their impacts on soil environment. Herein, the dynamic effects and mechanisms of organic foliar spraying materials, including earthworm liquid fertilizer (ELF), Tween 80 (T80), and citric acid (CA), on soil Hg methylation and accumulation in lettuce were investigated using pot experiment.
