In this study, we aimed to determine whether TLR-9 T-1486C SNP was associated with susceptibility to OA in the Turkish population. The study group comprised 272 patients with Grade 2-3-4 knee OA according to the Kellgren-Lawrence scoring system and the control group was formed of 296 individuals with Grade 0-1. The TLR-9 genotype were assessed by real-time polymerase chain reaction. An analysis of TLR-9 promoter -1486T/C polymorphism revealed that the -1486CC genotype appeared to have a higher risk for OA and -1486TT and -1486CT genotypes have a protective effect against the development of OA (crude OR = 0.473, 95% CI = 0.297-0.754, p = 0.002, adjusted OR = 0.531, 95% CI = 0.326-0.864, p = 0.011). This study indicate that there is a correlation of TLR-9 T-1486C gene polymorphism with advanced knee OA in a Turkish population. Changed in TLR expression due to different allelles may cause osteoarthrith development outcome cartilage degeneration. © 2017 Orthopaedic Research Society. Published by Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Objective: Anomia is defined by difficulty in retrieving content words like nouns and verbs from long-term memory, independent of any impairments related to articulatory movements or motor speech execution. The tools for measuring picture naming, the conventional method for assessing anomia, are very limited in Turkey. The aim of this study was to adapt the Test de Dénomination de Québec-60 images/Quebec picture-naming test-60 pictures (TDQ-60), a color picture-naming test for adults and the elderly into Turkish, establish its validity, and develop normative data adapted to the Turkish population to address this gap.

Background: This study aimed to adapt the Psychological Food Involvement Scale (PFIS) to Turkish culture and test its validity and reliability. The PFIS measures individuals' psychological, emotional, and social relationships with food, which significantly impact eating behaviors and health.

Methods: The study was conducted with 478 participants aged 18-65.

Purpose: Given the potential role of nasolacrimal duct (NLD) morphometry in the aetiology of primary acquired obstructions, it is imperative that clinicians have access to detailed anatomical information. The aim of this study was to determine normative data on nasolacrimal duct morphometry in the Turkish population sample and to provide guidelines for clinicians.

Methods: The study included retrospectively computed tomography images of a healthy Turkish population sample of 151 individuals, 79 of whom were female and 72 of whom were male.

Objective: This study aimed to investigate the distribution of knee phenotypes based on the CPAK classification in healthy nonarthritic subjects and osteoarthritic patients in Türkiye.

Methods: Radiological EOS analysis of nonarthritic 1172 knees and osteoarthritic 571 knees was evaluated to clarify the distribution of CPAK classification. The knees were categorized into 9 subgroups according to the arithmetic hip-knee-ankle (aHKA) angle and joint-line obliquity (JLO).

Simulation-based approaches for setting indirect outcome-based analytical performance specifications (APS) predominantly involve test repetition through analytical reruns or resampling. These methodologies assess the agreement between original and simulated measurement results, determining the APS corresponding to pre-established performance thresholds. For APS related to imprecision and bias, both analytical performance characteristics (APCs) are typically considered in simulations, whereas for APS regarding measurement uncertainty, bias is excluded in alignment with traceability standards.
