Aim: to study an association between T455C apolipoprotein C-III (apo C-III) gene polymorphism, insulin resistance (IR), metabolic syndrome (MS) and its components in a Kyrgyz ethnic group.
Material And Methods: 259 persons: 162 patients with MS and 97 sex and age matched controls without MS, diabetes mellitus and cardiovascular diseases were included in the study. Clinical examination with arterial blood pressure, anthropometric data measurement and laboratory tests for blood glucose and lipid parameters were performed in all included persons. In 140 patients test for immunoreactive serum insulin was done. DNA was extracted from blood cells and T455C polymorphism.

Background: Recent genome-wide association studies have revealed that nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) is correlated with genetic polymorphisms. However, the effects of genetic variation on nutritional metabolism and NAFLD are complex and further studies are still needed.
Objectives: This study aimed to assess the nutritional characteristics interacting with the correlation between genetic predisposition and NAFLD.

Background: It has been reported that three common loci, SstI, C-482T, and T-455C, in the apolipoprotein C3 (APOC3) gene might be associated with an increased risk of coronary heart disease (CHD). Considering the inconsistent results and ethnicity variations, we performed a systematic meta-analysis to evaluate the association between three single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) and the risk of CHD.
Methods: We searched HuGE Navigator and PubMed databases to screen for the related literature published before 25 September, 2015.

Polymorphisms in the apolipoprotein C-III (APOC3) gene have been reported to be associated with coronary heart disease (CHD), but the data so far have been conflicting. To derive a more precise estimation of these associations, we performed a meta-analysis to investigate the three main polymorphisms (SstI, T-455C, C-482T) of APOC3 in all published studies. Databases including PubMed, Web of Science, Wanfang, SinoMed and CNKI were systematically searched.
