Polyaminobenzenes were synthesized by the ruthenium-catalyzed iterative C-H amidation of anilides using dioxazolones as an amino source. This strategy could be implemented by the sequential activation of C-H bonds of formerly generated compounds by cascade chelation assistance of newly installed amide groups. Computational studies provided a rationale.

Carbon-hydrogen (C-H) bonds are the foundation of essentially every organic molecule, making them an ideal place to do chemical synthesis. The key challenge is achieving selectivity for one particular C(sp)-H bond. In recent years, metalloenzymes have been found to perform C(sp)-H bond functionalization.

Evidence-based guideline: premature ovarian insufficiency.

Hum Reprod Open

December 2024

Monash Centre for Health Research and Implementation (MCHRI), Monash University, Clayton, Australia.

Study Question: How should premature/primary ovarian insufficiency (POI) be diagnosed and managed based on the best available evidence from published literature?

Summary Answer: The current guideline provides 145 recommendations on symptoms, diagnosis, causation, sequelae, and treatment of POI.

What Is Known Already: Premature ovarian insufficiency (POI) presents a significant challenge to women's health, with far-reaching implications, both physically and emotionally. The potential implications include adverse effects on quality of life; fertility; and bone, cardiovascular, and cognitive health.

Electrochemical C-H oxidation reactions offer a sustainable route to functionalize hydrocarbons, yet identifying suitable substrates and optimizing synthesis remain challenging. Here, we report an integrated approach combining machine learning and large language models to streamline the exploration of electrochemical C-H oxidation reactions. Utilizing a batch rapid screening electrochemical platform, we evaluated a wide range of reactions, initially classifying substrates by their reactivity, while LLMs text-mined literature data to augment the training set.

Non-covalent interactions and charge transfer in the CO activation by low-valent group 14 complexes.

J Mol Model

October 2024

Departamento de Físico-Química, Facultad de Ciencias Químicas, Universidad de Concepción, Concepción, 4070139, Chile.

Context: The CO activation by low-valent group 14 catalysts encompasses the rupture of varied covalent bonds in a single transition state through a concerted pathway. The bond between the central main group atom and the hydride in the complex is elongated to trigger the formation of the C-H bond with CO accompanied by the concomitant formation of the E-O bond between the complex and CO to lead the corresponding formate product. Prior studies have established that besides the apolar nature of CO , its initial interaction with the complex is primarily governed by electrostatic interactions.
