Pyrimethamine, sodium salicylate or ethanol were administered to adrenalectomized rats 3 and 21 days after the operation. It is shown that cytogenetic effect in the operated rats is less pronounced, particularly 3 weeks after the operation. Adrenaline (0.2 mg/kg) increases the effect of chemicals on the chromosome apparatus, while hydrocortisone (50 mg/kg) and corticotropin (10 U/kg) decrease it.

Background: Mucopolysaccharidosis type I (MPS I - IDUA gene) is a rare autosomal recessive lysosomal storage disorder. Clinical symptoms, including visceral overload, are progressive and typically begin postnatally. Descriptions of hepatosplenomegaly associated with lysosomal pathology are uncommon during the prenatal period.

Efficacy and safety of low-dose TBI combined MAC regimen for HSCT in high-risk AML patients with active disease.

Ann Med

December 2025

Department of Hematology, Affiliated Hangzhou First People's Hospital, Westlake University, School of Medicine, Hangzhou, China.

Background: The management of high-risk acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) remains challenging, highlighting the need for innovative conditioning strategies beyond current regimens.

Methods: In the present single-arm study, a FACT regimen comprised of low-dose total body irradiation (TBI) with fludarabine, cytarabine and cyclophosphamide was employed to treat cytogenetically high-risk AML patients exhibiting pre-transplant active disease. This clinical trial is registered in the Chinese Clinical Trial Registry with the registration number ChiCTR2000035111.

The present study evaluated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of (CA) fruit extract against bisphenol A (BPA)-induced ovarian injury in female Wistar rats. The antioxidant activity was estimated by the total antioxidant capacity (TAC) and superoxide radical (NBT) content. For the in vivo analyses, 24 animals were divided into the following 4 groups: the control group; the BPA group (50 mg/kg BW BPA for 30 days); the BPA  + CA group (50 mg/kg BW BPA and 50 mg/kg BW CA); and the CA group (50 mg/kg BW CA).

Over the past two decades, new agents for multiple myeloma (MM) have significantly improved patient outcomes, particularly for those with standard-risk disease, who now have a median overall survival of over a decade. However, this benefit is less pronounced in high-risk and ultra-high-risk MM, where median survival ranges from 3 to 5 years. The definition of HRMM continues to evolve and is driven by the genomic features, disease burden, and medical comorbidities.

Flow cytometry characterization of antigen-specific polyfunctional T cells is a valuable tool to study adaptive immunity. Here, we present a protocol for flow cytometry immunophenotyping of human antigen-specific T cells by activation-induced marker (AIM) and Th1 cytokine detection. We describe steps for preparing peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) for stimulation followed by washing and staining PBMCs for flow cytometry.
