Aim: to elucidate effect of asymptomatic left ventricular (LV) dilatation on the course of myocardial infarction (MI).
Material And Methods: LV remodeling and diastolic function, as well as inter- and intraventricular asynchrony were studied in 58 patients with primary anterior MI without signs of heart failure and ejection fraction >40% on month 12 of the disease. Patients were divided into 2 groups: with normal-sized left ventricle (LV end diastolic size [EDS] <5.5 cm) (n=28), and with mild LV dilatation (LV EDS 5.6-5.9 cm) (n=30).
Results And Conclusion: At month 12 of MI patients with asymptomatic LV dilatation were characterized by more pronounced signs of pathological remodeling, diastolic LV dysfunction, inter- and intraventricular asynchrony.

Chronic non-specific neck pain (CNSNP) is a common condition and its relationship to the pain catastrophizing construct in terms of sensorimotor functions and dual task performance is not fully understood. We aimed to investigate the differences in sensorimotor integration, cervical sensorimotor control, and cognitive-motor dual tasking abilities between CNSNP patients (> 3 months) with high versus low catastrophizing tendencies and healthy controls. Ninety participants were recruited, 30 asymptomatic controls, and 60 patients with CNSNP; 30 scoring high (> 75 percentile) and 30 scoring low (< 25th percentile) on the pain catastrophizing scale (PCS).

Introduction: Basal cell carcinoma (BCC) is the most common type of skin malignancy, accounting for approximately 80% of all non-melanoma skin cancers (NMSCs). Ultraviolet (UV) exposure is a significant risk factor for BCC development, which typically occurs in sun-exposed areas. BCC arising in non-sun-exposed regions, such as the nipple-areola complex (NAC), is exceedingly rare, with fewer than 100 cases reported globally.

Papillary fibroelastomas (PFEs) followed by cardiac myxomas (CM) are the 2 most common primary benign cardiac tumors. Although typically asymptomatic, they can manifest with nonspecific symptoms such as dyspnea and dizziness or more acute manifestations such as embolic events. We describe an unusual location of a PFE typically seen with a CM.

We present 2 cases of caseous mitral annulus calcification (MAC) in which one patient was asymptomatic whereas the second experienced left hemianopsia. Both patients underwent transthoracic and transesophageal echocardiography exams which revealed severe MAC with a mass consistent with caseous MAC. A mobile component of the caseous MAC was observed in the patient with left hemianopsia.

Internal hernias are one of the rare causes of intestinal obstruction and usually is the diagnosis of exclusion. Para-duodenal hernias (PDH) are rare congenital disorders that occur due to malrotation of the midgut in the embryonic phase of development. They can be asymptomatic or can present as an incarcerated, strangulated, or even obstructed internal hernia.
