When children go missing for many years, investigators commission age-progressed images from forensic artists to depict an updated appearance. These images have anecdotal success, and systematic research has found they lead to accurate recognition rates comparable to outdated photos. The present study examines the reliability of age progressions of the same individuals created by different artists. Eight artists first generated age progressions of eight targets across three age ranges. Eighty-five participants then evaluated the similarity of these images against other images depicting the same targets progressed at the same age ranges, viewing either whole faces or faces with external features concealed. Similarities were highest over shorter age ranges and when external features were concealed. Implications drawn from theory and application are discussed.

This study aimed to investigate the correlation between baseline MRI features and baseline carcinoembryonic antigen (CEA) expression status in rectal cancer patients. A training cohort of 168 rectal cancer patients from Center 1 and an external validation cohort of 75 rectal cancer patients from Center 2 were collected. A nomogram was constructed based on the training cohort and validated using the external validation cohort to predict high baseline CEA expression in rectal cancer patients.

In recent years, immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) has emerged as a fundamental component of the standard treatment regimen for patients with head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). However, accurately predicting the treatment effectiveness of ICIs for patients at the same TNM stage remains a challenge. In this study, we first combined multi-omics data (mRNA, lncRNA, miRNA, DNA methylation, and somatic mutations) and 10 clustering algorithms, successfully identifying two distinct cancer subtypes (CSs) (CS1 and CS2).

This study investigates the optical properties of carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and silicene nanotubes (SiNTs) under the influence of external magnetic fields, focusing on their linear and nonlinear optical responses. A tight-binding model is employed to analyze the effects of magnetic fields on the electronic band structure, dipole matrix elements, and various optical susceptibilities of zigzag CNTs and SiNTs. The results reveal significant magnetic field-induced modifications in both linear and nonlinear optical spectra.

Ultrasound biomicroscopy (UBM) is the standard for diagnosing plateau iris, but its limited accessibility in routine clinical settings presents challenges. While anterior segment optical coherence tomography (AS-OCT) is more convenient, its effectiveness in detecting plateau iris is limited. Previous research has demonstrated that combining UBM and AS-OCT image pairs through neural style transfer has improved classification accuracy.

Rationale And Objectives: To develop a radiomics nomogram based on clinical and magnetic resonance features to predict lymph node metastasis (LNM) in endometrial cancer (EC).
Materials And Methods: We retrospectively collected 308 patients with endometrial cancer (EC) from two centers. These patients were divided into a training set (n=155), a test set (n=67), and an external validation set (n=86).
