In this investigation, the structure of bidentate N,N-Schiff base ligand of vanillin, (E)-4-(((2-amino-5-nitrophenyl)imino)methyl)-2-methoxyphenol (HL) was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The interaction of new [CuL], [NiL] and [VOL] complexes with DNA and BSA was explored through UV-Vis and fluorescence spectroscopy. The electronic spectra changes displayed an isosbestic point for the complexes upon titration with DNA. The K values for the complexes [CuL], [NiL] and [VOL] were 2.4×10, 1.9×10 and 4.2×10, respectively. [CuL] complex was bound more toughly than [NiL] and [VOL] complexes. These complexes had a significant interaction with Bovine Serum Albumin (BSA) and the results demonstrated that the quenching mechanism was a static procedure. Also, the complexes interacted with BSA by more than one binding site (n>1). Finally, the theoretical studies were performed using the docking method to calculate the binding constants and recognize the binding site of the DNA and BSA with the complexes. The ligand and complexes including Ni, Cu and VO ions were colonized by fungal growth.

Three stable oxidovanadium(IV) [VOL] complexes (1-3) were synthesized through the incorporation of unsymmetrical salen ligands (HL). All the ligands are synthesized, and their vanadium compounds were thoroughly characterized by CHNS analysis, various spectroscopy methods (IR, UV-Vis, NMR spectroscopy), and HR-ESI-MS. The structures of 1-3 were validated through the single-crystal X-ray analysis.

Herin, the successful synthesis of a bis Schiff base (L) has been achieved using 2-hydroxy-1-naphthaldehyde and 1,3-diaminoguanidine as raw materials, which was further characterized by infrared spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance hydrogen spectrum. Moreover, spectroscopic experiments demonstrated that the probe L showed good selectivity and visual detectability for Al. Its detection limit (DL) is 2.

Variably protease-sensitive prionopathy (VPSPr) is a rare, atypical subtype of prion disease in which many patients exhibit a family history of dementia. Rare protein-coding variants in , which are causal for all known forms of genetic prion disease, have been ruled out in all VPSPr cases to date, leading to suspicion that VPSPr could be caused by variants in other genes or by non-coding variation in or near . We performed exome sequencing and targeted sequencing of non-coding regions on genomic DNA from autopsy-confirmed VPSPr patients (N=67) in order to search for a possible genetic cause.
